Played 2 decent sessions today and I had two hands that were somewhat interesting....
This is the lesser cool one but not bad because at least I win. I had no read on the guy but I really never thought that long about laying down my TPTK.
Now this hand is weird. I'd only been at the table for one orbit and it was clear this guy was nuts. I had KhQc by the way and I was pretty stunned by his holdings.
-This is a totally separate thing but I had pocket 7's this hand and 3 people call. Should I always just c/f on a scary board like this since it's very possible someone has a Q?

You are pretty much dominated on a QT5 two-tone board.
It isn't one you can lead out because you are going to be called with a very large range of gutshots/flushdraws/overs that just dominate your mid pocket pair. I'm going to say that depending on how the flop goes most likely anyone with a Jack will continue in the hand. You'll see J8/J9/JT/JQ/JK/AJ all continue, which hold decent equity verse a mid pocket pair. Gutshots get the four outs from that key card plus another three per overcard of your pp. So you are facing a hand that has 10 outs most likely, and maybe even with a flush draw.

Take my advice with a grain of salt though I'm partially retarded.
Edit: Even 98o has a good chance verse your 77.
It holds 46% equity. Of course I'm not saying someone is going to continue with a 98o in a 3-way pot with a draw heavy board like that but I'm just saying even shit holds a decent chance against a mid pp. |
