I want to build a cheap (less than $600) desktop with a graphics card capable of playing the newest games and supporting 2 24" 1080p monitors. Can anyone direct me to a thread where this is discussed or offer advice/link. I have built computers before...just not in the last 5 years.

Thanks!

Hadn't played poker all summer, but then decided to start up again in august. Lots of mistakes but about to move up to 25nl. Probably used all my run g00t.

here's 2 links, just a disclaimer, you're sort of asking for something that doesn't exist. but here's the closest thing available.

although tom's hardware is more reliable, maximum pc is more recent. gl with building your machine.

Cheap. Fast. Reliable. Pick 2 out of the 3 that are most important to you and go with it.

if you want a pc thats gunna run the newest games smoothly and last for a while your gunna need to spend more than $600, unless everything is drastically cheaper compared to england which i doubt
gl with it

Thanks for advice so far. Is building a computer for under 600 that can support those monitors achievable?

Any pc in the last 10 years can easily run dual 24" widescreens, the question is for what purpose? If all you are using them for is displaying the desktop, such as pokerstars, web browsers etc, this is no problem. If you are trying to run crysis at max details and 1920x1080 it will never happen.

We also need to know just how many parts you actually need to purchase. Do you already have the monitors? Keyboard? Mouse? Case? A few bucks saved here and there can get you the next level up in a video card or processor.

bye now

Under 600 and running the latest games? Not happening. Most machines that run the latest games need a videocard that costs close to that by itself.

Edit: Also gone are the days where building your own is all that much cheaper (if at all) or anywhere near as reliable and long lasting.

"Dude, you're getting a dell." Whatever happened to that guy??? Oh wait...On February 9, 2003, He was caught attempting to buy a bag of marijuana on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Curtis was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana. Due to recognizability of Curtis, word of the arrest spread quickly through the media. A chain email of the story even cropped-up as it was forwarded around the internet using the iconic parodied phrase "Dude, you're getting a cell!"
You can't go wrong with a solid Dell.....

Pretty much wrong on every possible count. Show me a pc build, and I will show you the same one part for part from newegg at a discount. Building your own pc today is just as strong as it ever was. You will save a ton of money. And no you do not need a $600 video card to run the latest games. It just depends what you are willing to sacrifice in quality.

bye now
