Hand from PAD that I thought was interesting. Would like to discuss from Patrik Antonius's POV

200/400 like 250k effective 6 handed

Ziggy limps
Durrr raises to 4k
PA calls with AdTd
Eli calls
Ziggy calls

Flop 16.6k: TsTc2s

checked through

Turn 16.6k: TsTc2s ... Qh

PA leads 11k
Dwan calls

River 38.6k: TsTc2s ... Qh ... 5s

PA leads 32k
Dwan raises 64k to 96k

I'm not sure I like PA's big lead, but if he leads, this strikes me as the perfect spot to b/3b (like 140k left behind) as a bluff. When Durrr checks the flop, I don't think he ever has QQ. Patrik knows he can't have TT, and I think he cbets 22 and QT a decent percentage of the time because there's a FD to get called by and he's Durrr so he should know he gets no credit. I would imagine he would also cbet the nfd a good amount of the time. I'll also say that Durrr probbly never flats the turn with 55. Patrik's line is very consistent with boats like QT, 22, or even TT, and he really shouldn't have air ever leading into 3 players on the turn, so I'd have to imagine if he b/3b the turn Durrr would fold pretty much his entire range* on the river because it's really hard to think of any bluffs Patrik has other than a T turned into a bluff. What do you guys think? Bear in mind that I am not sick enough to ever turn trips into a bluff against durrr on the river for a quarter mil, but at the time I was yelling at PA to do it. Seems like a really cool spot.

*I think his range on the river is probably almost entirely not nut flushes and Qx turned into a bluff, with some small % of nut flushes and 22 played strangely. I think there's a chance he folds that entire range, and if he's calling it's probably just with 22, because who folds boats?

I don't understand what's wrong with anything Patrik did.

He bet big on two streets and expected to get called by more worse hands than better hands. That's pretty much all it seemed like to me?

That's true, but I think if he b/3b's river durrr can't ever call. I don't think his line isn't +EV, I just think b/3b river is better. Far be it from me to second-guess these guys, but there aren't many times in my nitty-life where I've said, "wow that's a great spot to turn trips top kicker into a bluff", this is one of them.

what did durrrr have?

I assume durrrr had a flush and patrick mucked to the raise?

b/3b would be pretty sick but Durrrr is pretty good and may call the jam

awesome hand
didnt think durrr would raise there

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol

I actually dont think 3b is good in this spot. I have seen a decent bit of durrr and I think he can show up with QQ/QT some of the time here. When he raises, durrrrs range is something like QQ, QT, worse Tx (not very many), flushes and some bluffs (actually dont think there are many of these either in this spot). if PA 3b, he will be called by QQ and QT, fold out all durrrs bluffs, probably will fold out most Tx. The only thing left then is flushes. When durrr raises he most likely will have figured out PA hand (probably has a read) and if PA 3b its actually likely durrr will call (he is pretty sick and I guess he will follow his reads since he is not scared money). There is so much history between them I think durrr can sniff something like this out.
So, I see no reason why PA should make his hand into a bluff, when the only thing he can gain value from is getting flushes to fold, and the rest of durrrrs range would be better to call against.
