yeah river is a pretty easy fold

i would say that if you're reraising preflop for value, which you are, don't worry about pushing him out by making it $2. By making it this special number youre basically telling him "ok i know you're adjusting to me so i'm gonna show i know whats up and adjust back by making this succinct amount that lies exactly at the equilibrium between the raise amount youll fold to and the raise amount youll call".screw all that just bomb it to $2 pre. if hell fold out a2-a5s but call slightly bigger reraises with a8s-aqs then so be it. but no need to be robotic about it either, youll feel it out on yourown

you played this hand fine, youre wa/wb. as for the river you can safely fold because hes not trying to bluff you here definitely. i'd even fold for $3 since that is a bet amount he might make with a spiked queen. learn to fold in situations where there is very little payoff is always a +EV move

i would probably call here if given like 4 to 1 odds, but the size of his bet is just wayy too telling

similar spots come up a ton vs most loose passive fish when an overcard flops and getting the right odds on a call is what i usually depend on barring other reads. generally you'd want to cbet for value but i don't think this is the board at all to do it.

i guess i got way to caught up in the game dynamics. to be quite frank i was rather pleased with the way i played this hand and even happy about calling the river bet but i guess i should continue to keep in mind abc poker.

(in my mind this is like 77, 88, 99 all day and i do expect to get owned by trip AAA here once in a while but Q never)
