This is a funny story I think you guys will appreciate.

So I'm in a 10.80 NL double or nothing and this guy insists on re-raising his pair of aces three hands into the game. He loses about 700 and starts crying about the other guy playing 78o and hitting the flop, instead of just realizing he's a moron for betting him back and forth. He argues with me all game about how bad I am and how he's the second coming, and how "we'll see where you guys are and where I am at the end."

He goes all in with pocket 8s after he sees a flop of 4AA with the other guy having 6Q. The river lands a Queen, of course, and the guy is eliminated in 6th place-just low enough to not make anything.

The kicker? The guy who beat him on the last hand was the guy who took him for the 700 in the 3rd hand who I was defending all game. Massive lols.

This one time, I had AA and had been playing pretty loose, but we were shorthanded anyway, and this guy called me with JTo. He flops TP and we get it allin, then he rivers the 10. I didnt say anything but he goes "sry man, hard to put you on a hand".

bye now

insists on re-raising his pair of aces? so he should of just called the initial raise by your logic?

No? He shouldn't have continued to throw money at a guy who clearly had better than just a single pair. It was a remarkably easy read and this guy just wouldn't let his aces go.

Yeah because you had this awesome read 3 hands into a SNG at a stake and level where most people would stack with any over-pair and quite frequently with top pair? Hindsight bias much?

I mean the very fact that you play double-or-nothing SNG's kind of says you're probably not very good at poker but your 13 posts and this lame ass story confirm it.

I never claimed to be good at poker; I'm failing to see where you're even coming from. And yes, it's an easy read if someone's betting back at you. IIRC there was a straight draw on the board (which is how the 78o beat the aces) but either way, it's either the guy with the aces dominates or gets owned because he's too stupid to lay down his aces.

Post count has nothing to do with how good you are at poker. I'm not saying you're not better than me; I'm saying you're a jackass for even bringing that into the discussion.

You acknowledging that you are not good at poker and then criticizing someone for playing aces optimally preflop and then yelling at established members of this site for telling you you should not be saying other people are bad is a really really really bad way to start off here.

Perhaps I should clarify that the re-raising was done on the flop, not pre-flop.

There are a lot of holes in the story that are there simply because I didn't realize there would be this ridiculous discussion about it.

I didn't "yell" at him. I merely pointed out that post count is a very poor way of judging someone's skill. Sure, it gives a general idea of experience, but it really doesn't mean anything.
