As the pf aggressor, hero c/c's flop, then open bets a blank turn.
I see this line so much in higher stakes mtts lately but I don't find myself using it often. It seems like hero always has a hand in these situations. Anyone use this line much and can explain the reasoning behind it if there is any?

I've got no idea but can't it be a decent way to combat "bet when checked to"-syndrome? |

I use this line but not in MTT's since I only play 6max cash these days. Mainly I do it vs people who love to bet when checked to. the idea for the turn bet is that well, the jig is up, the guy is gonna check behind with a wide range now so I just bet into him to ensure he doesn't check behind. It's kind of a pot control line too. |

It's called a stop and go. Usually by fish it's weak in cash games. Most pros hardly ever seem to use it. DJSensei and fslexcduck talked about it in their unconventional wisdom series on Deuces Cracked. It can be good but you have to know how your opponents are going to react ot it. A lot of aggro regulars are going to raise it 100% so it's good to start with a hand against them. |
