do I have to pay taxes on poker winnings? if not do I declare my winnings or just not do anything

I opened a new bank account at TD last week and I am planning to deposit 70k tomorrow 60k check/10k cash I'm aware this would look pretty suspicious as I do not have a job and my parents have no money but do I really have anything to worry about? I'm 18 and currently goto highschool

I had a cibc account where I've probably deposited 50k into the past year while I was underage also but that was in smaller increments 1k-15k

w/e advice you guys have would be appreciated

nope, zero tax on all "lottery winnings"

poker falls under that category until that militant state to the south of us seizes control

what do u guys do on your taxes though, do you file and making $0 income or do you not file or what?

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

If you deposit that much money in your account in one shot, funds will be frozen because of the anti-laundering/terrorism laws and the transaction will be investigated. You'd better advise your bank of that large deposit and explain where it is from it should be hold for 5 business days tho. If you dont want to deal with that you should wire the money in small amounts (less than 5k) but they can still notice it and they'll find it even more suspect.

Regarding taxes, i dont think you have to pay them on your poker winnings.

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not

in the states, theres no waiting time on 10k transfers, idk about 50k transfers though

Just remember you need to be god damn sure about their tendencies. -Artanis11 http://www.pocketfives.com/profiles/neillyaa/
