So... I'm not working on the road anymore. It's too hard on me mentally to have to be alone for 3 months at a time, never having anyone or anything... whatever, I have been home for a month or so, hoping to pick up where i left off being a microstakes balla (lol yeah right). I can't win at poker though, i had a 4k bankroll when i came home + money in the bank and i'm busto now. Granted that a lot of that was lost playing like $500 wcoop events and shit (I really blame wcoop for being busto) and once i got under 2k i just started gambling excessively playing games I couldn't afford to be in like nl100 hu and stuff trying to use variance as my double-edged sword and reclaim some sort of realistic bankroll for sustaining life. My bank account is dwindling to say the least and I have applied for all kinds of IT jobs but no one has contacted me at all.

I'm really started to get concerned with my well being, I don't know how long I can coast but I hope I can find some hole to give me some wiggle room and find the light at the end of the tunnel and direct myself towards it.

I'm going back to school in the winter as a more humble individual and I think i'm ok with being normal. I haven't really decided what I want to go for 100% yet but I think I either want to be a teacher or a network administrator or something.

Guess I'm gonna go play some aion... maybe try to turn some fpps into cash or something, prob taking a break from poker for a while strictly because of my financial status although poker is such an integral part of my daily habits I have no idea how the fuck I am going to be able to maintain myself without having my day mostly based on grinding.

also it sounds like I was practicing some bad BR management but at the time that I was playing some wcoop events and shit I was pretty financially secure in my life, the 4k was just an amount it had nothing to do with how things were at the time.

I really don't jump outside of my br too much but i just never dropped below nl100 because there is no way I can use poker as an income with $500 or something in my account and I think I just have to attempt to be lucky or something? Regardless I haven't really had luck in my favor at all recently, which is probably fitting because earlier in the year I was very lucky... I just wish that i didn't feel so worthless and I had a job interview or something so that security would at least have a checkmark by it on my list.

the difference is that I have made a substantial amount of money from poker and I'm pretty sure neilly is like in debt to people constantly.

he has found some sort of vice with tournaments or something, although i have no idea how anyone can run as well as he has recently. his PTR is still hilarious though, -28k or something.

he seems to have more winnings than you do, at least tourney-wise... if he'd just quit cash games altogether, you on the other hand seem to still be somewhat of a degen "I think I just have to attempt to be lucky or something"

that says it all, poker shudn't be part of your life, you should quit this forum, quit poker, live your life, be happy, poker is not for everyone, you won't succeed, if you had to you would already have.

hate me for that

it's still the truth

Why is it a waste of my time? I have learned so much as an individual from playing poker. I enjoy the competition and at the same time I enjoy the emotions that it brings. Poker is always going to be imbued with me, even if i am a degenerate loser.

You seem to think that if someone isn't beating 25/50 that they are "wasting their time" or whatnot.

I enjoy everything about poker to be honest. I see no reason to really give it up? It's not like it's negatively impacting my life at all.

neilly is definitely not in debt. he might owe money to people but its money that he has now, 100% guaranteed.

plus hes getting help from good players in vegas and lives with another grinder. he's in a really good spot whereas you're broke and have nothing going on for you.

i have to agree with fayth, you're just harming yourself by keeping this lifestyle. i would take a break from poker (a real one) and just get it out of my mind for multiple months before attempting to become serious at it again

fuck I should just sell some of my Pokemon cards, if no one stakes that is what I will have to do - lostaccount

the simple fact of the matter is that if you could somehow extract everything that goes into what makes someone a better poker player, I am confident that I would win hands down, 2x over.

neilly's stroke of luck isn't impressive to me when he can't even win at a cashgame.

regardless, can we not talk about how much better I am than neilly at poker in this thread.

this thread isn't even about poker or neilly it's about the mishaps of a young protagonist looking to join the likes of the working class hero who hasn't found his sanctum of faith yet.

Fuck Crown, that sucks.

It just seems to me that you have trouble with the psychological aspect/ 'Work/life' balance as people might say.

I don't think you should quit, oh god no.
Seriously I don't know wtf is Fayth saying with writing you off so quickly. A large % of the best players are 'tamed' maniacs.

You should stay in the game especially because of the examples of former idiots like Neilly. How long did it take him to ditch the cash games?

I wish you find the right balance Crown, don't quit on poker just yet

93% Sure!

lol Neilly Still plays Nl100 from time to time and is a big loser there...
Doesnt matter too much though since he wins more from sngs and tournaments than what he loses at Nl100 cash

But i also think Fayth is being a bit gay on this
[x] everyone who hasnt made 100K yet should rather work at an 8$/h job than play pokerz ...

i remember u pulled this month of some time ago

SO how can poker clearly not be for u when u can make 7,2K in 1 month of playing a card game ? ( not luckboxing 2K hands but grinding over 33K hands)

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 04/10/2009 17:57
