My room mate and I are both playing poker as our job while going to school. I know a lot of you other LPers live with poker players or have at one point. Right now my room mate is ona pretty sick downswing and I think its starting to get to him a little bit.
Im just curious as to what some of you guys have done to help out youre downswinging friend? It might be best to just let him be which is what Ive been doing but man hes been going on some pretty sick tilt lately and I wanna help the guy out lol.

remind him not to tilt suggest moving down stakes until he has control of himself
if ur a winner at his stakes sweat him for an hour just chillin and give some thoughts/advice |

motivate him, when my buddy says 'dont tilt' to me i get it in my head and i play horrible.....just hype him up....'lets rip poker today', 'we're too good at poker', 'how many buyins u gonna win today? 5 or 10?' lol....shit like that seems to work for me and my buddy try it out maybe itll work for u
i find sweating each other hard because styles of play are so different |

i have a similar situation, being with a roommate who also plays...
i think the best thing u can do is help him get his confidence back by sweating him for a bit, or going over hands with him, etc.
nothing helps the confidence more then finding leaks to plug and making adjustments to ur game.
but yeah, i always find moving down for a bit quite helpful in refocusing my play |

yea i can defenitly do all this. hes on such big tilt right now though i think im just oging to leave him alone for the rest of the day. i kno what its like to be down alot and the last thing i want is someone telling me im playing bad or whatever. he just did the tilt withdrawl roll from site move lol. man i hope his luck turns lol. |

I usually make a very large purchase and talk to them about it constantly. Then I say something like "its great to have some extra money from poker so I can do things like this." |
