Why would anti-war protestors keep protesting after their party won and troops have been scheduled to come home?

it's not just you, think it has something to do with the hacker thread. I've been gettin some weird SQL errors and "password denied" randomness trying to reply as well.
Anyway I fail to see your confusion here. If healthcare reform is passed are you going to ask "where are all the healthcare protesters?"
bye now

Right, Obama's plan, originally anyway, was that we would begin the process of troop withdrawal from Iraq. Thats what people were protesting. The administration has admittedly been pretty vague on all of this so far, but it's sure better than the Bush administration's idea which had no end in sight. If I recall Obama actually gave a specific date for all major military operations in Iraq to cease. Obviously there will still be some left behind, hell we'll probably always have a presence there from now on, but it wont seem like an occupation, and it wont involve our troops being put in harms way every single day. Afghanistan is a whole other story. Now if Obama fails to meet this "troop withdrawal" date, whatever that means, or if he completely doubles back and there appears to be nothing changing whatsoever, then people will begin to protest again. But it's not like we can just fly them all home overnight. We've got like a trillion dollars worth of military equipment over there, and the transition from war to peacetime is a slow process. Name one war that just ended within a year of saying "we're done". It's going to take awhile, but most people have faith that it will happen per a scheduled guideline as indicated during his campaign run.

Is this how you debate in your poly sci classes? After someone finishes speaking you just reach into a bag of printed images you pulled from other forums on the internet and flash them to the class? Do you ever actually offer any opinion of your own? Good luck with that.

lol gawd Aibot
If your not mega-leveling (which I've still not completely ruled out) then you're then so misinformed upstairs and stubborn that you probably really think what you just said; that I have never offered my own opinion anywhere on anything on this site.
Maybe you should backtrack some and reply to the threads that I've gotten ZERO response to after I replied with my thoughts on the matter? Recall any of those or do I need to point you to them?
I think you should reread your posts, starting from the last one here... and take this with you when you do
There is nothing wrong with the lower levels except when that is all you can do. If contradiction is as high as you can sometimes go then it's not worthwhile for anyone arguing from above.
To use an analogy, would a 5/10 poker player be thoroughly interested in playing someone nl.50 hu?
Until you are able to get higher on that pyramid, you will rarely get a worthwhile typed out response from me.
Meaning you have to be able to comprehend what I or others besides Obama nuthuggers are saying!
And those pictures are a response to you btw. What did you interpret them as? jokes? I only wish.
You think Obama is change? That embassy was in the works before you ever even heard the name Obama.
You have no concept of what is really going on and as I've stated to you before and lol I gotta say again..
I... <----me specifically
...get nowhere... with YOU
It is you specifically NewbSaibot that I decided awhile ago not to really waste much time responding to
You assume way to much, you have zero substance and rarely retain/comprehend anything I say.
So except maybe in picture form or perhaps when someone else quotes you and asks me to respond (which I did with Holly yes? where r u at there eh....?) THAT is about as much "substance" YOU will get from me.
If I was the pansy censoring type you'd of been long gone.
You say I need to interject my own opinions more? I say you need to use a little more research
no wait, ALOT more
and political satirists do not really count
like me telling you I'm not a republican...
I repeat I repeat I repeat
you are a waste of my time
we get no where and you see only what you WANT to see

QFT
"President Obama said Friday [Feb 27 2009] he plans to withdraw most U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of August 2010.
Between 35,000 to 50,000 troops will remain in Iraq, he said. They would be withdrawn gradually until all U.S. forces are out of Iraq by December 31, 2011 -- the deadline set under an agreement the Bush administration signed with the Iraqi government last year.
"Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end," Obama said in a speech at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina...."
