yea had my 1st breakeven session today. it all started pretty good. i was up 22$ until i got doomswitched and eventually had to stop the session after a 5BI downfall in a matter of 3-4 minutes...
i will take sanai's advice and do this: "Stay on Stars till $500 while grinding NL10. Switch to FTP, get bonus, get rb, play NL25."

couple of hands im unsure of:

medium overpairs! played correctly against "normal" NL5 players?

That FH vs quad hand is disgusting...Not sure about laying down the jacks, but I guess the check raise is pretty scary.

shoving here as a bluff at 50NL is like explaning calcalus to a 6 month old cat wtf are you thinking - TalentedTom

If you raise flop in hand 2, I think you have to bet turn to protect your hand. Personally (depending on the villain's stats) I'd just call down flop and turn.

#1 - depends on villain
#2 - you definitely have to bet/fold this turn
#3 - standard cooler

Hand 1 - bigger on turn. Also, define what a normal nl5 player is? A complete fish or one of the nitty regs? Ez fold if nitty reg.

TT hand I don't like to c/r that much, I would rather lead, because I think c/r:ing puts you in an awkward spot where you aren't sure what to do vs a 3bet, whereas if you lead you'll probably get 3 streets vs any pair. Once you c/r the flop I would bet the turn, because the queen doesn't actually change anything.

KQ hand is just a setup, there is literally nothing you can do, what so ever.

Hm.. Off-suite socks..Last edit: 04/11/2009 12:21

#1 Depends on the opponent as stated before.
In further detail he may have flopped a straight, or had pockets, or hit two pair. I don't think he would have called the raise preflop if he just had two single low cards though. I personally sometimes re-raise people when they bet $1, depending on the table cards. They may be attempting to bluff me out of the pot. I'd say it happens every 2 out of 3 times. (At micro tables anyway) Since you had pocket jacks I probably would have called him.

#2 I would have folded as well. That Queen messes up your whole hand. If I knew he was a tight player. If he was a loose player I may have called. Once again its a tough call.

#3 was pretty brutal. I would have made the exact same moves you did. Don't take that loss to heart haha.
