If I go to a website that may be hosting malicious software, if I search for all files modified during the time I was on the website would I see something if I got something on my computer (virus scan came up empty)?

that's a good idea, how do you do that type of search?

And I have no clue whether it would work

I suppose it stands to reason, but windows is not always very accurate when it comes to file timestamps. Plus, you may find dozens of 'modified files', from windows itself just doin its thang. I dont think this would be a reliable method of virus scanning. If one scanner comes up clean, try another. If they both come up clean and you see zero evidence of a virus, your pc is behaving normally etc etc, then just assume you're clean. I've seen some false positives with that "this site may be hosting malicious software", I wouldnt get too worried about it, unless it was a porn/warez and you hung out there for an hour.

bye now
