Happy new years people. December has been good. Im running 7.39BB/100 at NL5 and breakeven this month at NL10. Finally had a winning session at NL10

Question:
If i have a medicore hand like 78s on the button, and lets say 4 people limp before me, should I be raising this big?

I limp for sure. I think you only should be raising that as an unlimped button raise or as a 3 bet to exploit him through a cbet but I am not advance enough yet for that. The EV of suited connectors is based on implied odds. So you want to get in cheap so that you can obtain the 25:1 or something that people recommend.
Also, its important to play well postflop once you hit a big hand. Ex. Make sure that you are always WINNING pots where you hit a two pair, set, straight, flush, or full house and do your best to extract max value on each. Yet at the same time if you have a sucker straight or sucker flush or two pair or set (he might have higher kicker ex). Do your best not to get stacked. |

Well, the point of raising limpers IP is to ISO someone to take it away postflop or to get value from your good hands
In the this case where you have 78s and 4 limpers, you're not ISOing anyone, and it's not exactly a preflop value hand
Limping a drawing hand ip, you pretty much have pot control postflop and can just fold cheaply if you miss/and are more likely to get value multiway when you hit |
