I wanna learn a bit more about the "investment world" and am hopeful that some of you LP guys can point me in the right direction. What books would you suggest? What websites? What do you use to trade stocks? Etc.

I know a few guys here have made a transition from poker to some form of investing (stocks, etc) and some play poker/invest at the same time, so I'm hopeful that you guys will give me some suggestions on where to get started learning about that world.

Thanks!

I don't do much trading but if I do I use fidelity as my brokerage.

I read The Only Three Questions That Count By Ken Fisher. Really great book on investing and some of it even parallels poker.

I would scour the business finance and investing forum on twoplustwo, just a few hours on there myself helped me get a better idea of what I should probably be doing with my money.

turtle traders. good math based trend following method of trading. kinda antiquated but it still does work if u tweak it right. tokeweed did very well doing that, but i dont understand how to use charting software like metastock.

Day trading is very profitable if you

1) do your homework and learn the mechanics
2) have enough capital to trade with 100% of your own money (vs proprietary trading, although i dont think thats in the picture here).
3) have enough time or able to do it while playing poker

day trading is alot like grinding poker tbh except your work hours follow the trading hours

I was actually just thinking of doing an "Ask me anything about Investing/Finance/Stocks" thread...

Are you looking to learn more about "High Finance" (how major transactions work, how corporations finance themselves) or "low finance" (how best to deal with your own money?
