I figured with how much 3n3yd was 3betting and how much I was stealing that this was just a squeeze and so I tried my very first 4bet bluff. I obviously found out that my read was wrong when he 5bet me all-in. Now I was in a situation I've never been in before. Do I have the odds to call? I ended up calling with the faint hope that he was bluffing and that if he wasn't, that the math would justify the call when I figured it out later on.

Pokerstove says I have a 28% equity against QQ+ and AK. I was getting 2.52:1 (28%) pot odds so it'd be a breakeven call against that range. The range I've assigned is pretty tight but that's generally all tight players show up with when they are all-in preflop. So do I call or do I fold, or is it the same either way?

This is the first time I've 4bet bluff in 37k hands. I usually play pretty ABC but this just seemed like a decent spot to try. It's probably not going to make a comeback for a couple of stakes.

4bet bluff implies folding to a shove.

and dont 4bet bluff 17/9 nits, the math just doesnt work out to where its profitable.

and definitely size your 4bet smaller so youre getting a better price on your bluff. like 1.50 would be fine.

but just dont 4bet bluff this guy.

He had 3bet me off a few hands but I was probably overreacting to the fact his 3bet stat was so high. At least I got a new situation to think about and now I have a better idea of what to do in the future. I do tend to make some dumb decisions based on stats though.

Thanks, I don't think I really need to add 4bet bluffing to my arsenal just yet but what you said makes a lot of sense and I'll keep it in mind for the future.
