So after going on a 15 BI downswing at NL50, 6 of which were due to edzwoo convincing me to give heads-up a try, I decided to switch over from full ring to six max. The main reason for this switch is because I am playing far too loose in FR (19/16) without the proper postflop play to back up my preflop tendencies. However, my preflop game seems pretty at home in 6m games after having given it a try. So far it's been looking good, and if I keep this up, I will probably switch over permanently. I also moved back to PokerStars to unlock their New Year's reload bonus, which I managed to do today, putting my roll over 2400. Hopefully, I will be taking my fifth shot at NL100 soon.

How would this change in 6 max? Doesn't make real sense to me. |

I actually think my postflop game is fine, but for the amount of hands I was opening at FR, I was not playing too profitably whereas if I opened those same hands in 6m, it would be okay. Just played another session, ran super hot. Gonna play some nl100 later, wish me luck. |

dont think your postflop game is fine. we all have big leaks and being content is going to keep you from progressing.
and youre thinking about things the wrong way if youre trying to adapt the game to your preflop range. your preflop game, and how loose or tight you play, should depend on the games youre in and not the other way around. |

Solid advice, moving to 6max, saying postflop is going to be easier than FR is beyond rediculous, seriously quit poker now if you think this. |

Yes, I definitely have a lot of areas where I can improve my gameplay, but I think you guys are misinterpreting what I am saying. I definitely don't think postflop play in 6m is going to be easier than FR, what I meant was that because I was opening too many hands in FR, I would have to play marginal hands that are generally harder to get value from in FR than 6m postflop. If I am totally off about this and hands like TPTK are just as strong in 6m as is in FR against the range of players, then please let me know, lol. Of course, it would be player dependent, but in a general sense, what I understand is that 19/16 vs. the range of hands FR players play would require stronger postflop play than 19/16 vs. the range of hands 6m players play. If my logic here is completely off, please let me know, lol. |
