Summerlin is ok, try and look for places West of buffalo and North of Charleston for the safer/nicer areas of Summerlin. I live in the southwest (blue diamond rd and the 215) and I really like it. New construction homes are really cheap right now which is how I got my house. Henderson is a nice area too but the homes are going to be a little older and it might be harder to find a nice home in good condition. Avoid the north and the east.

ps- What stakes do you play and what brings you to vegas?

I have been on a 5 month break really reading and trying to soak up all the knowledge I can before I grind hard after this move. Online I will be starting at .50/1 until have increased my br and played well enough to move up. I don't care about the 20 buy-in rule I want to just make sure I am palying smart aggressive poker. Thank whoosel for the insight on the neighborhoods I will probbaly like to PM you in the future in regards to the move and poker if you don't mind.

Thanks again

It sounds like youre hugely unprepared to even consider this.

Youre going to play for a living?

Its probably near impossible to get work in Vegas right now.

Put wife/daughter first before your poker dream.

Funny guy, are you smoking ???? Where did I say I was playing for a living? According to my research and the contacts I have in accounting for me a job to find isn't that bad. I am in NO WAY prepared to play poker for a living live anywhere.
