Much bigger raise on the flop, like to 50c or so, fire turn, obv bigger on river when you hit. |

And what exactly do you manage to accomplish with the check minraise?
Come up with a plan before you decide to do something like this on the flop from oop.
You don't wanna c/r and then be like "fuck he called what do I do on the turn I guess I'll shut down"
Nothing in the hand makes any sense at all, so honestly when you get to the river theres no point in making a standard bet
You already fucked up your turn play, I would just shove river and expect to get called down by any queen/2pair/87 whatever |

Thanks for the criticism. My "plan" was to not raise so much on the flop so as to scare him away because he'd folded to a few big raises before. I know the check on the turn was bad, but then I wasn't sure how much value I could get on the river so that was my logic for the small bet. |

You very much want him to fold hands like 22-88, and the exact hand he has. |

You're oop and his turn check back pretty much widens his range for the river so at this point you're not SUPPOSED to know how much value you can get (therefore your logic for the small bet is useless)
So you might as well go for huge value because there's still tons he can pay off with on this board including worse flushes/straights that got there
Not to mention the small % of the time where terribad players just make curiosity calls when you shove |
