Spewing Money Away

These last few days I've been reading up and studying, getting ready to start playing. I had a casual stint with poker a couple of years ago, but forgot about it after about a month. So I've been harmonizing and tuning up what I remember from back then, and I feel like I'm building up a decent grasp of the basics. Relearning it allover after such a long time feels like it's giving me a measure of clarity that I didn't have before. Plus now I'm completely committed to mastering it and making loads of money without doing disgusting honest-work @,@

So, this morning I read a very wise and to the point article: http://archives1.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Number=6251739

It says the three big things that matter to be a winning player are:
a) Get in the habit of always playing your best, getting careless or cocky sets you back a lot.
b) To not spew money away by making glaring and obvious mistakes that you should know not to make.
c) Not to validate your opponents' bad play by paying them for their mistakes.

It was very inspiring so I set off to the tables with a passion. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way, and I lost a lot of cents doing it. I'm putting a sample here so I don't forget my lesson:

It's good to start being conscious these types of mistakes early
Hope you're successful crushing micros soon

Hand 1 - The only glaring mistake here is your bet sizing, dont bet pot. Something like 2/3 pot is fine and on A high boards you dont have to be much at all, maybe even half pot. On the river your clearly beat but you have to call since its only 4 cents.

Hand 2 - i dont mind calling the 3b pf but i would assume theres very litte if any light 3betting at these stakes so folding is fine too.

Hand 3 - You played this fine its just a cooler.

YA I TALK SHIT, GOTTA DEFECATE TO CONVERSATE

The only hand worth commenting on is Hand 2, as the rest were just coolers.

Hand 2: players limp raise for one reason, to trap. The only thing I call to a limp raise is PP's and maybe suited connectors depending on raise size, and only in position, since of course I can flop the nuts when they have AA/KK and they'll never get away from it. Folding on the flop is fine. I'd say fold pre, but even I lack the discipline to do this.

The only thing that changes this slightly is when some retard monkey is doing it. These guys will limp raise deuce five suited UTG just because they think they have to play random so you cant read them. You'll know the type, stats 71/55/8 etc etc. Give them no respect and be ready to stack off preflop with a hand like AQo.

Hand 1: played fine but I'd cbet a bit less. This cbet is basically a bluff and no one at these stakes is going to pay attention to your exact bet size. Once you hit 2 pair on the turn you should be looking to get all-in ASAP so a big turn bet is excellent, well done.

Hand 2: I don't like calling the 3bet, especially OOP and against a well-sized 3bet like that. Most people at micros don't 3bet at all, and limp/reraise is a classic fish move with a very strong hand. There are, however, a certain number of very aggro fish who like to raise a ton with just about anything, so if you have a read that he's like that then your hand is definitely strong enough to either call or 4bet.

Hand 3: Well-played on all streets, should probably bet river a bit bigger for value. Sets are incredibly strong at micros, you should not be in the habit of folding them or slowing down at all except on the very scariest of boards.

limp 3bet is generall AA or KK, sometimes an aggro fish whose tired of you raising his limp will 3bet with trash, but that's kinda rare.

comment about hand 1 - think about why you're betting this flop. you won't make him fold an ace and everything that's folding you already beat. check behind and call a turn bet or bet it yourself for value.

this shit is OBSURD
