checks can be used to make a deposit or to withdraw money, there is a chance he is grinding and cashing out through e-checks, but its prolly most likely he is losing his money and making deposits.

Its hard to make a easy buck legally, its impossible to make a easy buck morally.

there are also ECHECK withdrawls listed, so I think im only counting the deposits.

While this is true, I think I would appreciate an intervention over ignorance.

Yes do something immediately. Get him coaching or help on poker before he wastes anymore money. I found this out the hard way.... I was depositing $200 at a time and playing 2/4 when I was a noob barely capable of beating NL 25. I lost 3k before I came to my senses.

I've got 10k+ now.
a lot of really good players have lost money when they started ...

I lost about the same when I first started, should be trying to improve his game and, actually what I did when I was first starting and lost my first $500 or whatever it was, I moved to play chips and grinded and studied the game, then used my playchips to get $20 in cash lol.

You can just say you looked him up on pokertableratings and saw how much he's lost if you want a reason for confronting him. Also, this is a way to be sure you aren't misunderstanding what you saw.

It's not really a big deal, he should probably try to freeroll into some money though, or at least try to become a winning player before using his own money to play unless he is just playing for fun and doesn't mind donating
