olympic hockey impressions

watching the first two games of the hockey here, and would like to share my impressions thus far:

most importantly,
U S A

USA looked alright off the bat. Swiss missed two open net goals, which means the game could have easily been 3-3. This is not good. The US offense looks better than I ever remember seeing it, and our goaltending should be pretty solid considering we have three of the best performing goaltenders in the NHL. I'm hoping that they were a little rusty today, and if they continue to improve throughout the tournament they have a real chance. It's also worth mentioning that Switzerland is generally an under-rated team imo.

Canada

Where to start with these shitheads. First off, the great Dominion of Canada seems to like to go throwback style when it comes to hockey tournaments. They take the old British line of trying to screw everyone else. It seems like every time there is a hockey tournament in Canada these scumbuckets try as hard as they can to rig it so that they will have as close to a cakewalk as possible into the Gold Medal. This way they can be the "champions" despite fielding a bunch of mediocre goons. Fortunately they're playing possibly the weakest team in the field (Norway) and couldn't even score in the first period, so things are looking alright. Having notorious chumps like Eric Staal on the squad over grizzled veterans like Shane Doan is a joke at best. How these idiots could let Yzerman pick the unit is pretty laughable.

I mean, this guy basically has the "Nursing Home" defensive line of Niedermeyer and Pronger. It's going to be a competition to see which one has a heart attack on ice first. Then he goes and picks a bunch of fan favorites on the offensive side rather than players who actually have offensive output. Rick Nash, good player? Yep. Playing better than Shane Doan this past year? No fuckin way. Let's not forget Shane Robidas, only the most prolific scoring defensemen in the NHL right now. Nahhhh, fuck it, we'll just have Neider and Pronger out there, in this new politically correct environment the new rules will allow them to spin their wheelchairs around the ice.

St. Louis is also a questionable omission from the lineup. It's obvious they won't take him because he is little (and possibly beacuse Yzerman hates francophones), but the guy puts up numbers, and in the olympic game playing against teams like Russia, speed is important.

Basically Canada is a bunch of jerkoffs and is destined to finally end their hockey reign of terror despite being cheater scumbag losers, who couldn't pick a good coach if their lives depended on it.

Stephane Robidas fwiw.

Doan, give me a break with Doan, lol.

Agreed with St-Louis and Lecavalier... but wtf with your argument about the french canadians? He picked Bergeron didn't he? uh.....

oh and btw, your USA team blows ass. Like 4-5 of your player would of made the Canadian team so gg.

he picked bergeron cause he had to take one FC, so he took the toughest one.

Lecav and St. Louis seemed like no brainers to me compared to say Morrow or Staal, but obv they are bigoted and Canada is divided annd not United like the elite USA. We would allow all capable Cajun or Redneck players, if they existed.
