This year alone, I've lost probably 34 buyins in nl25 after rapeing nl10 for 5bb/100 24 tabling. I move up to nl 25, 6-8 table, and get destroyed everytime. Either I'm doing something wrong or I hit a doomswitch everytime. I'd love to think it's the latter but it's probably not.

Wtf am I doing wrong :/

lol I did the same thing trying to move up from nl10

for me, all it took was the realization that I am capable of playing poker and making reads and that I need to follow through with what I think is the best play. Dunno if this is your problem at all but, it was for me and I went from nl10 to nl100 in less than 6 weeks.

I don't know, I feel like the game plays a whole lot different too. Like nl10 ppl just sit around paying me off every hand, whereas nl25 there are a lot more nits and shortstacks that play significantly better.
I guess I'm going to end up paying a hefty price to figure out how to beat this level :/

6-8 tables is still kind of a lot. Try 4 tabling, and table selecting really well so you know they're all soft. Also, read this: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/69/.../moving-up-through-unl-2010-a-676130/

Whatever he said. There's WAY less fish on nl25 than nl10 for sure. If you can't get a fish to your right or 2 place on your right you're just going to have a hard time winning money.

Shin-il : Yeah it was very very very good for me too. Rekrul : YOU MOTHER FUCKING FUCKING SON OF A BITCH

maybe less fish but hardly anything to worry about imo. maybe table selection issues?

azn i have played a few 10nl tables with u before on stars months ago. i think 24 tabling is awefull. i have never really tryed to go past 8 tables. i found my success sky rocketed when i focused down on 4 tables. i have been strictly 4 tabling for the last 3 or 4 months and thats when my bb/100 at 10NL became about 9 and my bb/100 at 25nl about 7. playing 24 or 12 tables i think is totally unprofitable esp at these steaks... its all about table selection, find the fish (there are TONS) and stack them then just leave...in an hour long session of 4 tabling i must bounce to about 16-20 diff tables. never having more than 4 open at once...mybe you should give some thought to completly reducing your volume and increasing your winrate.

edit: lol@ your ptr comments. fejoe is a terrible terrible nit. i must have him for over 3K hands at some rediculas 10/8 shit

I can easily handle 8 tables like most of you do 4, it's really not a problem at all because of how I manage my tables. I also used to 40+ table sngs. I know if I did 4 I'd start watching movies or something and pay less attention. I really don't think this is the issue, as I have 4 tabled nl 25 before and ended up with the same type of results.

I think I've been table selecting pretty well, I end up in quite a lot of good tables with high avg pot and vpip.

I just need the retard smacked out of me. Next time I take a shot, probably later this week, I'll try my hardest to 4 table, but probably end up with 12 at the end of the session. I could definitely put up with like 2 tabling HU, it's just that 4 tabling is so fucking slow.

And there's no way I've dropped 35 buyins this year in nl25 from purely table selection issues, like honestly what the fuck lol.

Trust me, you ain't never playing as good on 12 as on 4, if you do, it's because you're not doing it right lol.

And if you're bored, easily distracted, it's your own lackings, with better focus, better thought process you'll keep yourself entertained, consumed with the few tables.

The change I did at "25nl" was understading to vary my game a lot depending on who I'm in a pot with, and I think it's even more important to have nits, tight players on your left than loose, soft players to your right.

You can't play your A game on 8 tables. If you do, your A game sucks

Agreed. People think they are good at Poker because they can play 24 tables at once. Poker ain't about macro son, Its all about micro.

I am a degen. Do not believe in any of my advice.Last edit: 21/02/2010 18:22
