http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local-...n-Flag-Shirts-Sent-Home-92945969.html
Galli says he and his friends were sitting at a table during brunch break when the vice principal asked two of the boys to remove American flag bandannas that they wearing on their heads and for the others to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out. When they refused, the boys were ordered to go to the principal's office. "They said we could wear it on any other day," Daniel Galli said, "but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it's supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today."

I don't know how come you americans always have some sort of t-shirt drama going on in schools? Sometimes its pepsi shirt on coca-cola day (btw really retarded that one) or some anarchist provo shirt or then "fuck you gay people, your going to hell" or whatever but this is the tenth time I read "someone wears the wrong shirt in school in USA, sent home".
I mean I'm sure one would get shit over in finnish schools too by wearing a well picked semi-provo shirts but no one ever does. |

I'm not really sure how wearing a USA shirt in the USA can insult anyone in a school full of citizens of the USA. |

Out of context it seems ridiculous. But we weren't there. WHos to say these kids weren't antagonizing people? I don't think I have ever seen anyone dress up in USA t-shirt, usa pants, and USA bandannas. Seems like a bunch of douches who were trying to make an anti-illegal american stance for cinco de mayo.
But whatever, do what they want as long as they aren't inciting violence. |

yes I agree they were probably wearing it for douchey reasons, but unless they are being actively disruptive it shouldn't be a prob |

the principal probably saw it as they were wearing the USA shirt on that specific day just to spite them. |

I agree though, patriotism is incredibly stupid. You can agree with your countries policies or disagree, but to be proud is retarded. |

if you agree wtih your countries policies and find them to be morally correct and just, being proud of this would be retarded? |

i'm guessing it has more to do with a couple people just horsing around and the authorities handling it in a ridiculous way. they were obviously trying to make a statement - and rightfully so in my opinion.
you think this is bad? you should see how canadian authorities deal with our 'minorities'. we don't give them holidays, we give them completely subsidized education, complete tax breaks, 'gifts', tribe-governed land, ability to open casinos without going through proper permit channels, unlimited fishing/hunting licenses (no quotas), and another few paragraphs of bullshit.
that's one thing i truly admire about the states - that it's america. it's not americanomexicanalatinoblackandnative. it's america. fucking canada and their minority-hugging ways.
i look forward to the day of equality in the great white north
ps - go canadians, take those pens down wheooooo |
