Obama just laid the smack down on BP, Halliburton and even the federal govt for their failure in the Gulf Coast Oil spill.
Video here, short and worth watching
| WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama on Friday angrily decried the "ridiculous spectacle" of oil industry officials pointing fingers of blame for the catastrophic spill in the Gulf of Mexico and pledged to end a "cozy relationship" between the oil industry and federal regulators that he said had extended into his own administration.
Obama said he shared the "anger and frustration" felt by many Americans, and promised he would "not rest or be satisfied" until the leak had been capped, the spill had been cleaned up and gulf residents could return to their livelihoods.
He also acknowledged differing estimates about just how disastrous the damage from the leak could become. He said the administration's response has "always been geared toward the possibility of a catastrophic event."
...
Reacting to the president's remarks, NBC's Andrea Mitchell said, "I frankly don't remember a Rose Garden scene like that against the industry since JFK and the steel industry." |

I'll watch later, but have you heard any of the rumors or what not indicating that the oil leak could actually be stopped by destroying the well, however that would permanently seal off access to the oil completely. BP does not want this, so they continue to let oil gush out making multiple attempts to remedy the problem so they can still pump oil from this location in the future. All of this could have been stopped weeks ago, it only continues so that they do not lose future profits from the area.
I dunno, just something I heard, havent investigated it yet. |

Wouldn't surprise me if that was true - these oil fucks don't give a shit about anything other than profit. |

sounds like bullshit. if this was so easily stopped, the government would of stepped in and done it themselves or forced the oil companies to do so. The economic harm is far greater from the oil spill than whatever BP could pull out of that well.. no way this specific action wouldn't be an enormous news item.
Sounds like a shitty rumor. |

Oil companies only concerned about profit? No way....something new.......oh wait didn't they set record profit a year or two ago at $55 billion? |
