So over 2 days, after moving up from NL10 to NL25 after I had accrued a $560 roll, I have lost over 12 buyins at NL25 and am sitting on $250. I have no idea of what to make of this. I definitely had a pretty unlucky run, but can it be all bad luck? Is it most likely poor play mixed with terrible luck?
My question to LP: Do I continue attempting NL25 only having 10 BI's left, or do I drop down once again and grind up until I reach enough buyins to take another shot?
Man this sucks. As far as my poker game goes, I literally feel like a deflated basketball
TLDR version: Got smoked at NL25, crazy unlucky but can't rule out bad play, do I drop back down and grind back up again?

Drop down, shots at higher limits don't always work well. Just grind up and try again. |

Dont take 10 BI shots with 20 BI's, move down. Next time move down faster after you lose like 5 BI's. |

I think 20 buyin shots are fine at micros. I was playing 25nl with 400$ roll. Obviously you need that much more discipline to move down if you run badly and lose like 2-3 buyins.
What I don't understand is winning at 10nl convincingly (I assume?) and getting crushed at 25nl. From what I've seen, skill difference is almost non-existent between the two. |

Yeah, I made 30+ buyins at 10NL over about 10-14 days, yet I am slammed 12BI's at 25NL in 2 days over 3k hands O_O

I know I should have moved down earlier, but I believe 20-25 buyins is enough for micros to start. Money is not really the factor in all this, as I can move up to NL25 if I wanted to just deposit money into my account from my work pay.

poker is a fickle thing @@; I was a slight winner at 25nl for a long time and one day things just started clicking and I started crushing. I moved up to 50nl this month and made 30 buyins in a week over 17k hands on a huge heater (something like 8-9BB/100) It's a super weird feeling when things make more sense than they used to.
If money is not an issue, you can keep playing 25nl IMO, from what I've seen from hands you post here you can definitely beat 25nl...Obv if you don't feel comfortable w/ it you can just move down and get more hands in on 10nl. |

use better BR management. 30+ buyins is good because it gives you room to adjust to the limit without having to move down right away if your shot starts bad
oh ye...an move down sooner |

I dont see any diffrence between 10NL and 25NL, maybe it's because I am playing 20-50bb 25NL and 100BB 10NL, so basicly same stack but diffrent blinds.
Dno, just weird, doing good at 10nl and being crushed at 25nl, maybe you are "money scared" or something?
When I play I dont actually think about it as real money, just something and I wanted to get up/higher, bigger br score. |
Not even about the money. I could pay my way into NL25 with my job if I wanted to. The factor that gets me the most is that this is the 3rd time, while the other 2 I was not fully prepared, that I have moved up to NL25 and have been literally CRUSHED by the limit for some reason. I am not scared, and I feel I respond much better to the more frequent 3betting that occurs at NL25. While I was unlucky over the past 2 days, I can't chalk it up completely to variance, unless I'm somehow the most unlucky person in the world at NL25(lololol no)

you played too many hands while losing too many buyins in too short of a period of time imo, you definitely should of stop lossed way quicker and I promise you were tilting your balls off for at good portion of your playtime. Infact you are probably still tilted. So don't play poker right now imo
Play nl10 some more
If you start depositing now you are just going to end up fishing hard.. gotta earn the move ups the first go around imo |

if you have hem or pt, watch your redline (non SD winnings). If it sinks faster in nl25, that means you're playing worse.
Personally, I think it is that simple - redline is the indicator of your play (at low limits at least).
Oh, and move down faster! ppl who say "you can still play..." are prob playing higher limits and nl25 looks simple to them, but as for you it's still the rooftop, don't overdo it |

Nah just saying I can deposit and move back up to NL25 if I wanted. I keep my RL money and poker money seperate to avoid any bad situations. |
