Must See Movie about Marijuana

I don't consider myself to be an expert on Marijuana or the politics behind why it was illegal, but I've always felt like I know more than the average person. I know it has medical benefits, I know hemp is useful, I know that the government says it's a gateway drug and that's why it must be destroyed. I felt like I knew a bit of the depth of the issue.

This movie just made me blatantly aware of how ignorant I am about the truly amazing qualities of Marijuana, and the sick and twisted politics behind why it is illegal. I've definitely found a cause for activism that I will be involved in until Marijuana is legalized and all of it's potential is tapped for the good of all the people on this planet.

This is a MUST SEE MOVIE. It's on instant view on Netflix, so if you have an account then go search it out and watch it. You will be surprised how much you do not know. It's also on youtube but the quality is pretty crap, though that's not too important.

The Union: The Business Behind Getting High

Filmmaker Adam Scorgie explores the illegal marijuana industry in British Columbia, revealing how the international business is most likely more profitable than it would be if it was lawful in this enlightening documentary. Marijuana growers, law enforcement officials, physicians, politicians, criminologists, economists and celebrities -- including comedian Tommy Chong -- shed light on this topical subject in a series of compelling interviews.

I'm for legalization but this is going a little too far. If this is your motivation than your efforts will be soooooo much better spent in supporting stem cell research. Pot smokers just want to get high for the most part.

why not just legalize it and tax the shit out of it, then the government could make $$$

My brother is a schizophrenic from marijuana, anyone who thinks it should be legalised is ill informed and have clearly only researched it with bias in mind.

It's illegal for a very good reason.

There is contradictory research that people with a genetic tendency towards schizophrenia who use lots of marijuana through adolescence have a higher chance of becoming schizophrenic in adulthood. I have 2 pot head friends who suddenly became schizo when they hit their mid 20's, so I think there's a possibility here. But I'm not saying legalize it for the youth, I'm saying treat it the same as cigarettes and alcohol. It's regulated, you get it in a store, need ID, etc. It's easier for kids to get Marijuana and other drugs than to get cigarettes and alcohol because the booze/cigs are regulated. We do that with Marijuana and we can do a better job of preventing teens from smoking and having the negative affects your brother had.

Yeah I was high when I wrote it and got a little over passionate, haha. I don't mean I want to get the entire planet high, I mean that there are a lot of beneficial uses of Marijuana which I never even knew about and I think it's ridiculous that people on this planet don't get to enjoy them due to so much political and corporate BS. I agree with you on Stem cell research and I'm definitely in support of it.

Definitely a sensitive topic, but I think that the issues have to be present already as in individuals who are genetically vulnerable if I remember right. I didn't watch the video because I know they are going to talk about how great hemp/weed is and how bad the government is etc. etc.
Here's my take on it (having smoked way too much myself) I believe it affects people differently as well
Positives: Food, Music, Video games, masturbation all better and maybe feel closer to friends and stuff
Negatives: Unmotivated, Lazy, afraid of social settings with strangers

In other words when I smoke I want to do 3 things video games, eat and wank this takes up a lot of time and money because I have an addictive personality I don't want to stop smoking because then music, food and video games won't be as good and I end up smoking over extended periods of time and then force myself to stop and two weeks later remember that life isn't so bad without the 'enhancement'
