Why does it hurt so much more losing an all in shove on the flop with 16 outs vs top pair crap kicker against a complete donk fish than an extremely talented player that you admire/respect?
Same move, same odds, same pot, etc. Players may have gotten to the decision in different ways, but the situation is still the same.
Ego? Self image?

Possible. IDK, it happened to me against a pretty bad player I was running over, and I began to feel angry. Then about a minute later, this thought popped into my head. I can't say for sure, but I feel missing would not hurt as much if I missed against a player I felt was better than me. |

probably because you expect to win vs the fish. against a reg, you will lose pots more often.
really, you should be happy the fish got the money because its way easier to win back than if you lost that money to a nit/reg. |

cause fish are not supposed to have top pair...when they do it feels more like you made a bad read/move whether you really did or not (but of course you're saying the situation is the same). This probably explains some of the times. But yeah, you know it's gonna happen some of the time anyway so... |
