In 1 hour, at 6 pm aka 11 TL.net time there will be a lot of frenchies that'll sitout in order to talk about Pstars and their insane "more than what it was supposed" rake. If there's any .fr players fell free to do the same.
We will, including myself, sitout from all the tables we can and protesting for as much as we can until pstars hears us.
Sorry for those who went to .fr to play at this hour.
Hope you understand.

Regards.

probably be a lot better if you typed up a standard complaint email template and got everyone to email it to support.

sounds like good logic thinking that france asks 2%, so they make pf rake >>>>>2%

Why did they randomly just skyrocket the rake? Was that a government issued thing? Only logical reason to do this, is that they wanted to make something so ridicilous that everyone would quit gambling online

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

if i understand correctly, the government wants 2% from every pot

Garfed   Malta. Jul 04 2010 13:05. Posts 4818

They should raise rake by 1% only for pots after flop, and give away 1% of their profit, making it a total of 2% for french gov. But yeah, greedy as hell, arent they?

Not like France isnt the biggest euro market and they would profit A TON from it anyway.

Just to say that we aren't giving it up. Seems like a lot of 2/4 got blocked aswell.
And woezy : Yes, but they also want to rake us PREFLOP. Which makes it even more ridiculous.
There are simply too many things.
I could give you millions of examples about how greedy pstars.fr is.

Here you can see how ridiculous it is.

.

I know, so it would be 'fair' if they rake 1-2% preflop, not 5 or 7 or whatever they rake now preflop

Almost every table is blocked. We're even talking about it on 2+2. See here.

Your anger is kinda misdirected.

First, you can skim this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_incidence

Then you can think about the situation a bit more. The French government, in one fell swoop, has both added a tax/rake on Poker, AND made it almost perfectly price inelastic by limiting the amount of poker sites that can do business with French citizens to essentially 1. Given that PokerStars is a private organization, not a charitable organization out there to let the world play poker for free, I don't see how you can truly be angry at them for increasing the rake to match what they are being taxed. You can say they are already making insane profits, but honestly pretty much no one has any clue what their costs of doing business is. And you also have to realize that if they were to keep rake exactly the same, they would be giving up *40%* of their revenue to do so. And that's without including the fact that the French government has forced them to rake pots that see no flop. Do you honestly think its so ridiculous that they don't give up 40% of their revenue?

Now, I don't disagree with your protests, I think they're good. But direct your anger at the French government who has passed this law which has caused all this, not at a company who is actually trying to provide you with a site to play on despite the horrible situation the government has put you in.
