Has anyone had any experience playing poker in Miami?
I'm here for the next few weeks and would like to get into a poker room with low-limit tables, since the age limit is 18 i believe.
Specifically, looking at Magic City and Miccosukee Indian reservation. How is the rake structure there?
Thanks

| Hello,
Thank you for your interest in the Magic City Poker Room.
Our current rake structure for our 1-2 no limit game is as follows:
When the pot is $5 we take $1. At $15 we take an additional $1. At $25
we take an additional dollar. At $35 we take an additional dollar, and
finally, if the pot reaches $45 we would take an additional dollar for a
total of $5. This is for the house rake and does not include our
Jackpot rake of $2, when the pot reaches $10.
Thanks again for your interest. We hope to see you soon!

How does this compare to typical live games? It looks kind of pricey to me. |

it's ridic. high rake but the players at $1/$2 NL games are absolutely atrocious live. Even $2/$5 they're pretty retarded. |

I think some of the rooms around here are capping at 5 including the jackpot drop but I may be mistaken - and things changed quite a bit since July 1. Live winrates for mediocre players are astronomical compared to elite players online at the same stakes almost to the point that it makes up for playing 15 hph and paying insane rake/tip. If you study the game at all you should be able to turn a profit in a random 1/2 game. |
