Wow haven't blogged in almost forever. I just saw a bunch of people posting movies in their blogs and I just saw this movie and thought I'd post about it.
Honestly I wasn't gonna see this movie. I'm thinking like ok, just another strangely awkward kinda funny Michael Cera movie, which are oddly abundant nowadays. But I promised lil sis I would take her to a movie and it was the only thing playing that didn't suck/she could see.
And dudez, seriously. . .I fucking loved it bad. After watching it for 10 min. you can already tell it was SOTD director. Really quick witted fast paced humor. The comic book style takes some getting used to but only gets better. Probably the most original movie I've seen in a long time. Go see it!

That movie was amazing... The influences from video games are abundant and well done...
Loved the background music in his dream sequence... ;-) |

Ok, i guess i'm just into different movies and couldn't stand how long the fight scenes were & how much of the movie they took up. I disagree & think ppl should avoid that movie b/c its too repetitive & long for what it is. If they cut down the fight scenes significantly it could be fine. As usual, i didn't watch the trailer & just went to see it.

It was fast paced the whole movie which is ok. It was also very polished and looked good. The coins idea was awesome. The humor was decent and the movie seemed to be going good up until Michael Cera started going out with the girl & then defeated the first ex. THEN holy crap did this movie go bad. It basically abandoned all of the plot and turned into this repetitive piece of garbage. The teenager tilted me. The fighting style & idea was enjoyable for maybe the first 1-2 times but what was it, 7-9 fights? Including some small repeats. Way way too much with basically no variation and would have probably been fine if there were less fights. Sure, the locations and characters changed but was there any variation? Not imo anyway. The way the movie was polished and made to look like a video game is perhaps why i found it so repetitive in the end. They always played the same track. It felt like every fight after the first 2 was some kind of filler. Its like they're just dancing around with each other for a few mins doing very unimpressive shit and then finally they get KOd and burst into coins with nothing really impressive about it all except for the visuals.
TL;DR: if you want to drool on repetitive visuals this movie is for you

True. But it's a movie based on an action comic so the fight scenes seem justifiable, if not a little long. BUT I think everything else in it, the comedy, story, acting. . more than make up for that. Although I'm a huge Edgar Wright fan. . so maybe I'm biased, but still You'd watch it again I bet. |

No, i would absolutely hate to watch it again. I would have left the movie theater if i wasn't with friends and if i knew how much of the movie the fight scenes were gonna take up. |

btw i liked the movie, thought it was very fun to watch.
i'd recommend everyone to try to read the comic book series, its more plot driven and less fighting driven. |
