Sup all,
I'm writing an essay about online poker and i'd like some help.
1.- (US players only) I understand theoretically u are not allowed to deposit money on sites working offshores, however u can still get around it and play on PS/FT somehow.
Plz describe what u are actually forbidden to do and what you can do. Add anything else u feel is relevant.
2.- For anyone who actually lives of poker, answer if you pay taxes, and if you recieve anything in exchange (healthcare, retirement pension, etc). Do not forget to state where u from.

1. You're allowed to do whatever you want, banks just aren't allowed to xfer money, if I remember correctly.

It's incredibly difficult to get money to an online site, because the majority of processors are through banks or credit card companies. Since credit card companies in America are not allowed to transfer money to these sites, nor are banks, it gets difficult to put money online. Some banks still work, and some do not. Some banks will tell you to stop, others will not.
As for #2) I pay a kiddy tax, because i'm still on my fathers healthcare since I'm only 20. Since I am not 100% independent, I have to pay the same percentage as my dad on taxes. So I ended up paying 45% of my poker income due to the kiddy tax that was implemented in 2009. I get nothing back, from them.
