For the most part I start FR tables when Im playing. I think its great for a number of reasons and many of you probably already know them all. Lately I kind of feel like my HU game is lacking because Im a pretty tight player for the most part so I kind of feel a bit out of my element when Im playing HU and usually hope that the game fills up rather then play HU vs someone unless he is a complete idiot. I have memberships on all the training sites and I was just wondering which series you guys think are best for HU beginners? I think I could use some review on the basics.

Other then that poker is going great and I feel like Im playing my hands really well lately. This is all thanks to pokerstove which Ive come to really enjoy messing around with. Ive been messing around with ranges and looking at how a lot of the regulars play and it is making it a lot easier for me to play against them which is always a good thing.

Havent played a lot of SC2 over the last few days, mostly been playing poker and doing homework. Hopefully I can get in a few games over the weekend and move outta the "special olympic" bronze league lol. What do you guys think a good adjustment is to when a protoss gets out his colossus and you are T. I usually try not to let the P get to this point but when he does I find that if P gets 2+ of them I get ripped to shreds. What do you guys usually do?

Probably going to get in a few games before I crash for the night.

Later folks.

pr1nnyraiding on deucescracked for HU. An amazing series with a set of properly planned lessons as if from a good teacher, not just some pro playing and chatting.

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

As said before, deuces cracked is def the place to be. pr1nnyraiding 1 is very good for the basic stuff you need (beware, the advice they say, especially preflop, is not optimal but it works for a beginner/tablestarter). If you want to go further, dogisheadsup (getting more advanced throughout) and then pr1nnyraiding s2. But then you are getting pretty advanced. Bluefirepoker is also decent (galfond), but wouldn't recommend for a beginner/tablestarter.

as for SC2: vikings are the colossus counter. Try to get some free shots, get a good angle vs the stalkers and don't overcompensate b/c vikings are pretty useless vs everything else.
In bronze you could probably get away with just having better macro and destroying it with mass MMM

I can't help you with HU but in SC2 I would try applying early pressure to protoss players if you are going for an MMM. There is a decent window between when your rax's come online and when it is possible for the first colossus to come out. This is a good time to push. It is important to macro strong and choose your battles carefully. To go in too early is bad because you won't have enough units to counter whatever the P can throw out from his 3 gates. To go in too late is bad because the colossus will own you. Learn to find that time to push. This is of course one of many techniques for countering a colossus, but I have found it effective. It may not win you the game but it puts you in a good spot going into mid/late game. Regardless, you're bronze so I would just work on some solid builds, make sure you're macroing properly, and get a sense for the basics of each map/matchup.

the games you own at, end up owning you
