i'm getting kind of sick and bored and have been having some trouble branching out and trying to find new music. i generally listen to this music primarily when i am exercising but also driving or doing busy work. to keep it simple when i workout i am basically looking for edm/house music that is amazing if you were to be rollin balls on speed/cocaine/ecstasy/mdma. i like to drink a bunch of caffeine and go wild and i've found that the caffeine mixed w/ CNS activation/testosterone/endorphins that this type of music is the most pleasurable and provides the most energy for me.

here is some stuff i've been listening to off the top of my head that i have listened to too much to help w/ suggestions and or maybe you haven't heard it and like it:

basically there was a recent tiesto podcast i was listening to a bunch and generally listened to a handful of those for a while:

Gamble and Burke "let's go together (Hot Pink Delorean Remix)"

BT and Andrew Bayer "The Emergency (Dave Aude Club Dub)"

alex Q "flume"

romanthony "the wanderer (dixon edit)"

some other songs:

serge devant "addicted"

giorgio giordano "amazzonia (david tort remix)"

medina "you and i"

rui da silva "touch me"

rui da silva "on my mind"

here's 2 that i got from iop that i listened the hell out of and still do (i'm crossing my fingers you are reading this my man):

meck feat. dino "so strong (inpetto remix)"

Gianluca Motta feat. Molly "not alone (deadmau5 remix)"

then most recently i got heavy heavy into deadmau5 for a lil bit but now am basically completely burnt out and can't listen. 3 songs i can still listen to.

deadmau5 and wolfgang gartner "animal rights"

deadmau5 "paco di bango's world"

deadmau5 "SOFI"

now i've been trying to branch out into more progressive house and chicago house and just anything really but am having a hard time finding good stuff.

for starters i think Orlando voorn's original "paco di bango" is iller

dust "recloose feat joe dukie"

knee deep "all about love"

i guess an example of some others that aren't chicago housey that i can still listen to:

dave spoon "at night"

kaskade "step one two (mischa daniels mix)"

john dahlback "don't speak"

BSOD "BSOD"

some other randoms i just love:

stardust (thomas banghalter aka 1/2 of daft punk) "music sounds better with you"

james brown "i feel good"

marvin gaye "just like music"

chic "everybody dance"

tulio de piscopo "stop bajon"

john legend "let's get lifted"

erykah badu "the healer"

marvin gaye "got to give it up (pt. 1)"

ok, wow, that was a lot.

help me please and if not hopefully you find something you like.

deadmau5- arguru, ghosts n stuff.

Boyz Noize - they are sick live. "do you remember" good beat

then the anjuna beats albums are good; Above and Beyond and i really like Oliver Smith check out "meet me in montauk" and "horizons"

Armin van Buren usually has solid tracks. His ASOT (a state of trance) podcasts or w/e are some of the most popular music of this genre. Saw him live when i was smacked as fuck and "not going home" was the best but i think it was tighter live than what i find on youtube.

also like

gareth emery - good trance

infected mushroom - israeli psytrance mdma band. they use real instruments to make this music pretty nuts live performance. check out "muse breaks"

You can also become a fan of all your favorite DJs on facebook and track them there. They always post their new podcasts and tracks

Btw Tiesto is a fucktard ever since his last album ... he stopped actually caring about the music he produces he started doing the same shit as david guetta aka more advertisement and commercialism and less quiality .... have to say all previous albums were insanely good but last one only has 1 good track and everything else is pure bullshit

Try out podcasts from trance djs:

gareth emery's podcast
intuition podcast by menno de jong
a state of trance by armin van buuren
identity podcast by sander van doorn
w&w podcast
...

See what you like then get more of that.

there is a light at the end of the tunnel... (but sometimes the tunnel is long and deep as hell)

wow, thank you. i think you literally did just solve all my problems.

yeah i'm w/ you here. i think you could argue that he's just a fucktard in general but as far as trance goes i think some of his older stuff is pretty sweet. whether it's by chance/sheer volume or talent i do like a lot of eps of his podcasts too.

lol david guetta. "love is gone" will always have a place in my heart though.

this post delivers as usual. although "bromance," "les djinns" "teenage crime," and "one" are perfect examples of "mainstream that i love if i haven't heard in a while but have listened to a million times and am pretty bored with it." obviously no way for you to know that.

i am trying to go a bit deeper into the genre. so if you know of any young and/or underground swedish djs or stuff from the 80s/90s is probably more what i'm looking for.

RiKD    United States. Nov 10 2010 06:54. Posts 8925

made a bunch of new pandora channels. thanks guys.

i guess a much easier way to group what i'm sick of would be:

1.) if it has appeared on tiesto's club life
2.) deadmau5
3.) benny bennassi

this doesn't mean i would be sick of similar types of music i haven't heard

i guess a much easier way to group what i'm looking for would be (not in this particular order):

1.) anything that would be played on soul train/studio54 in the 70s/80s
2.) anything that thomas bangalter or guy-manuel de homem-christo had a part of (excluding daft punk)
3.) any good edm/house from the 80s/90s
3.) anything (a good example in this thread was gareth emory and dub step. didn't know they existed but have found a lot of good stuff there)
