meh, I'm not too sold on Murray having a good track record with mid to late 1st rounders based strictly on that list. I mean yah Perry and Getzlaf are bonafide 1st liners, semi career cornerstones. But if you consider how deep the 2003 draft is (to give you an idea only Hugh Jessiman at 12th and Shawn Belle at 30th have not logged at least 100 games, and guys like Parise went 17th, Kesler 23rd, Richards 24th - one of your Flyers!)
I think the Sens will be fine as long as they can keep the puck out of their net and have guys with slow starts get back to par (Kovalev, Fisher, Michalek, aka what should be their entire 2nd line)
btw I quickly looked at the 08 draft, same can be said here. Some very good players taken before Karlsson. Sure hes enjoyed success before some of these guys who should be ok, but I mean, fucking Tyler Myers went 12th, Colton Teubert went 13th, and Karlsson was the 7th defenseman taken in that draft. That gives you an idea how retardedly deep that year was too no? (Doughty, Bogosian, Pietrangelo, Schenn were the other 4) |
