Is 8k hands a large enough sample? Trying to figure out why I keep losing. I feel like I'm playing solid enough. Generally speaking these stats tend to fall in line with winning players dont they? Just seems like if I'm not getting slowplayed, I'm value betting the worst hand vs droolers in spots where I simply have to bet.

yeah 8k hands is a shit ton. never heard of anyone ever putting in that kind of sick volume.

NeillyJQ: I really wanted to prove to myself I could beat NL200, I did over a small sample, and believe Ill be crushing there in the future.

Just at a glance your vs 3bet call% seems quite high, also your 3b% itself is also a little out of line I would have thought.

I don't play any rush though so it could be ok there. 4bet range is also quite high. Maybe you are just more aggro than needs be at this level especially preflop?

I'm not sure cos I only play 6max standard ring, but the 7.7% 3bet sticks out to me more than anything else.

yeah you are definitely probably a loser at these stakes if you're losing this much that fast.

If this is 6max, play 16/11 3% 3bet. Don't stray away from this.

the advice in this thread is abysmal but i guess it's correct

AA KK QQ etc are easy to play because they play themselves, when u are raising J7s in mid position, that isn't an easy hand to play. You are leaking money by being bored and not knowing how to extrapolate minor value from inferior hands with superior play. I'd suggest playing only hands that are easy to play until you play them well (results will show) However, there is no limit to what starting hands are acceptable given a correct situation and knowing when to spot that situation and being able to decipher it is... the mark of expertise.

with that said, u will learn poker faster by playing more hands but you will certainly need a huge amount of money to lose to gain that knowledge. This is similar to shot taking in that with the risk comes great rewards, but knowing when you have reached the stopping point is absolutely necessary.

play less tables, own every hand that you are in and ask yourself "why" you are doing what you do before you do it until it is 2nd nature. Just because u can click buttons rapidly enough to 4 table rush poker doesn't mean that you can do it.

WHAT IS THIS

he's obviously still learning the game. it is easier and more helpful to learn the game with stronger holdings than it is to have marginal holdings at every spot.

also micro stakes can be beaten exclusively (and should be) through vbetting...

it's basic game theory i don't even want to call it game theory. if everyone is calling with shit all the time why would u play anything else but stronger holdings on avg...why would you ever try to bluff

nah 8k hands isnt enough, but making ur stats look like the stats of other winners doesnt mean shit

I learned by playing 65/60 13%3bet first

I really think you can learn a lot if you start by being a spewtard

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - KapolLast edit: 19/11/2010 23:23

Even big winners can have large downswings. nanonoko's graph on PTR looks like there's 0 variance but he's said before there's multiple 30 buyin downswings in there, just that 30 buyins at 2/4 - 5/10 is a tiny blip on a graph that's +almost $2million so it's difficult to see.

Also stats don't mean everything, one 21/19 is different from another 21/19 even if they have extremely similar stats. Being able to pick better spots to bluff, better spots to value bet, better spots to hero call or hero fold, different preflop hand selection with regards to 3betting, defending 3bets, 4betting and so on and so forth can vary quite drastically even between players with v similar stats. Don't focus too much on the stats just focus on improving and playing your best.

Also, play Ket at MarioKart.

One day good. One day bad. And some days, even hope

Thanks for all the responses, definitely gonna work on reducing the number of hands I play. That might simply be my biggest leak right there, thinking I can play 20% of hands profitably when I'm really only good with half of them.

bye now
