with about 30$ a month and a bit of dedication, you could try any poker training site out there.
you don't need a coach when you play nl10 imo

new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...

this is prob an indicator of your approach/knowledge of poker

also coaching at micro stakes is absolutely and completely unaffordable.

There is a big difference between a TAG style, LAG style, and spewy

Typically they are playing 6 max as well. A lot of the tendencies they teach probly won't transfer over well to FR. Maybe change to 6max and go about it that way?

so in order to learn how to beat nl10 fr playing tag, you recommend to switch to 6max and play lag.

you will never be good at poker if you think those video nits play spewy

Like Night said, if you think the guys making micros vids are spewy, you must be the biggest nit ever...which is bad....

I'm saying that 6max games are more aggressive and loose, which is good. Their mistakes are more glaringly obvious in 6 max, which allows you to play against them much more profitably and capitalize on their mistakes. As opposed to NL10 FR where you fight with nits and hope your KK is good when you get it all in PF

this is a strong indicator if you refusing to think outside the box and what i mean by that is thinking outside of what you're comfortable with. You need to be constantly doing self checks and striving for improvement in that way. And be brutally honest with yourself.

The comment you made about the players in the videos is proof that you don't even try to understand the concepts and ideas they are trying to present to you. You just look at the play and judge it based on your extremely limited view/knowledge of poker.

What you're currently doing is obviously not working (wow 1 mirron hands at NL10 really?). And you're just playing break even/losing poker. Might as well try and experiment with different styles and concepts and try to incorporate them into your game.

also another thing to consider is maybe you aren't cut out for poker~ keeping it strictly to a hobby only is probably the best course of action for you in regards to poker.

In a way he is right about the training sites if he was watching higher limit players... If you were watching a 10nl video not that many exist but they should talk about how to play optimally then you can watch higher stakes players just because they are going to be a lot better, think of it as inspiration/you will still get great info (but don't copy craziness obv at micro) and they will also tell you how to play against fish which is going to be the same across limits. Basically watching videos should consist of 20% of your poker time.
I think you need to change something like maybe switch to 6 max and learn how to play a tight style there obv huge nit is not going to work. If you don't have full tilt poker get the rakeback deal from cardrunners you get probably the widest selection of videos for micro and holdemmanager, rakeback is essential at micro. Maybe if you feel brave try to learn PLO from scratch and it may be a better game for you but probably not since swings are insane and you said you were a huge nit.

It's probably not so much that he thinks the videos are spewy, it's just that he doesnt know how to apply the information correctly. I remember watching stox vids and then being like "ok guy raised in CO. Therefore I should reraise button" and that was it.

Watch the videos, but MAKE SURE NOT TO EMULATE THEM. Do not copy what you see moment for moment. Soak in the info, then basically ignore it and continue to play. Watch the video again a few days later. After like 3-4 times you'll start remember things like "ya know, I can probably reraise here because it's possible he's on a bluff". You'll give it a try one time and if it works it will stick in your brain.

bye now
