So i officially made my first order in China and it feels weird to be doing this wholesale/retailing thing again. I used to import video game accessories and it was pretty interesting and fun, wanted to go into cell phone spare parts but just as i was going to i tried playing poker and it kind of sucked out my life but was still worth it coz of the money i made off it, now i have this 3 year hole where i did not do or think about anything but poker, it has consumed my life in a way and honestly its really tough to balance two things for me and do well in both.
After a week I followed up on my order and the supplier said it hadn't been processed yet so obviously i get pissed for not being informed earlier, i go on tilt and tell them to cancel and they do then this morning i was told the order had been shipped and i told me to pay AFTER receiving goods, thats very rare so thats some good news since I might be able to get a good credit line going if things go well. I do have problems with DHL here thoough since they randomly charge ridiculous customs duties rates form time to time so maybe edzwoo or anybody here with experience in china imports and DHL regulations can enlighten me how to go around it. thanks and good luck to me
BTW: Ill repost these two recent movies I watched (available on torrents now with decent copies)
1. "Inside Job" - explains very clearly (for those who still don't clearly understand) how the world financial institutions with the help of new financial deregulation laws and instruments, namely derivatives, have singlehandedly given financial institutions to "print and create" money for themselves by giving them unlimited earning potential thru the use of imaginative means. They have grown so powerful and huge over time that it is practically an industry which needs no actual commodity, just ideas to sell and bet against for profit without any regard for it's negative impact on the global economy.
2. "The next 3 days" - russel crowe stars in this thriller which is really exciting to watch and heartwarming at the same time. highly recommend you watch this with your wife or girlfriend - the way the hero acts for his girl/wife is so heroic you're partner will actually feel you will do the same for her if it actually happened to you lol
update:
got a stake from dinos friend for 50nl and its ok, at least i get to play poker occassionally with no goals and pressure, theres a good chance i can make enough money monthly to get by and pay for some smallish bills and focus more on my business project. if either one goes well then it might help the other go better.
And may the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.

thanks it's been a real trying time for me lately, i thought i was over that long slump last year - seems like taking a break from poker has made me so risk averse with money that it's extremely tough for me to take run bad in poker now and wondered how the hell i was able to take playing a game a was obviously not beating and continue playing for so long with all the shit that was taking lol

Wish I could help you, but I go through some suppliers on the west coast US that does the whole importing process. Like you said, the costs/risks and the inconvenient process would take too much time for us to be worth it as of now unless we bought significantly more than we do now.
The other issue is the uncertainty of who you are dealing with, as middlemen are everywhere. I'm not sure how you got your source, but I know sites like alibaba are pretty unreliable to find the actual manufacturer.
GL man I'd be glad to help you out.

well im glad we're kinda on the same page. maybe we can help each other with what we get to learn about stuff in the future, im srsly planning to go to china if i see the products are legit and ofc if i see theres decent potential for growth in my region. the whole importation industry here in the philippines is obv corrupt which is kind of a double edged sword in the sense that if you know people, you can fastrack and circumvent everything, i know some key customs people in my city but maybe if im dealing with bigger amounts ill approach them. Im also looking for contacts in the U.S. and although I have relatives there they are not really business minded people. maybe someday we can do something mutually profitable well ill just keep in touch if ever.
