I don't know who to message for blog/account deletion so if someone with the right powers sees this please delete my entire blog and/or account also.
I haven't posted much in the past few months but you guys were really helpful when I played poker, I wish you all the best in the future. I need to move on with my life.
If anyone is thinking about starting poker I strongly advise that you don't waste your time with this shit game.

I think the problem is our assumption that because we know of winning players, we therefore assume we can be one. But it's starting to seem more and more like Hollywood. You dont actually earn your way to the top, you just get lucky and end up there. You know, Tom Cruise became a movie star, why cant I? Well because the cards fell in place for him, no pun intended. He just had a series of life heaters which put him there. Same amongst poker players. Most successful players claim to have made only 1 deposit, or no deposits at all to get where they are. But thats not really possible. What really happened was they made 1 deposit, ran hot as shit, built a roll, moved to a limit where they could make a living, and never looked back. The chances of anyone actually climbing from microstakes to high stakes are practically zero. |

Well said NewbSaibot. The variance in poker is massive and lots of people underestimate it massively. |

That argument is inconsistent. Ironically it actually shows that the good long term winners got there through their skill. If it was just about luck and hitting one monster heater then most high stakes players would, on average, have deposited numerously until that one mega heater hit, and it would be very very rare to find someone who only deposited once or never. |

You have no idea what you're talking about. There's a ton of luck involved in where you end up playing, but when you consistently lose at micro/low stakes it's because you're just not very good. And a big reason why you aren't good (aside from not knowing how to play your cards) is shown through that post of yours. You can't play this game with that mentality. You lose at the game consistently because you think like a loser. |

Care to describe your ascent into being a winning player? I.E. what limits did you start at, what bankroll, how many hands before you got to NL200? |

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol | |

The fact that actual poker players in this thread don't even realize how much variance there is in poker means it probably should be banned. |
