I haven't watched the dialy show in maybe 5 years. One day I thought "holy shit this is obnoxious" then gave up. I seem to be in the minority tho. |

It's a funny show but absurdly left.
I found it extraordinary to hear the pensions and healthcare benefits these US civil service employees receive, it's so out of step with the private sector and developed nations around the world. From what I understand the previous democratic govt left the state with $3.6b of debt, it's an unsustainable position, these protesters are incredibly selfish, they should give up some of their benefits and heed the recent election result. |

it's honestly not as far left as ppl think it is. It just makes fun of everyone in politics, it's left, but it's only seemed super left for so long cuz of the bush administration. After the right wing fox news machine the daily show and colbert report are actually the most critical of the obama administration as far as television news shows go.
How exactly are the benefits super out of line? Idk what they are asking for but I know things like healthcare are obviously only provided by the private sector companies in America through unions because we lack any type of public healthcare which most other nations have. We also have longer working weeks then almost any country in europe. So idk what exactly is "so out of step" with what other employee benefits ppl receive world wide, but I'm really ignorant on the subject. |
