So I know I'm a low postcount lurker here, and I'm pretty awful at poker. But I wanted to share this with you guys, ask for your help, or at the very least your interest!
I'm in a bluegrass folk band in Dallas, TX, and we're starting the recording of our first CD. We need $2500 for studio time, pressing and distribution. So, I've set up a kickstarter account to get the fundraising started. I'm spreading this like wildfire to my family and friends.
If you guys could throw $20 our way, you have no idea how tremendously helpful that would be.
If not, please, check out my band! I hope our music brings you some happiness today, cause we love to play and we love to have people hear it.
Thanks, and please leave feedback about the band and this project, I'd love to hear your opinions.
I'm an idiot and provided no links;
First to the kickstart page;

Second, to our facebook;
http://www.facebook.com/BackwaterOpera
Third, to our Youtube channel;
http://www.youtube.com/backwateropera
Thanks!

A second job would probably be faster than asking for donations to start a band mate. |

You guys definitely need to post your music on jamendo.com or something and pay close attention to the feedback you get. |

Lol this isn't 'starting a band'
We're all music students if you read any of our information at all.
Okay well if our music isn't your taste that's fine. |

has nothing to do with liking your music or not. you have 5 ppl in your group and each person cant come up with $500 or something?
if for some reason you each cant earn $500 on your own from working or something, i can possibly understand going to family/friends/fans for this but i dont know what makes you think a community which youre not really part of at all should give you money to support your hobby.
maybe other ppl are ok with this and its just me. |

We're all music students.
Starving Artist + starving college student.
I can't come up with $50 that isn't budgeted this month. Life's tight, and I'm not a winning poker player.
I realize I'm not an impactful part of this community... It was a long shot, I don't expect anything, but if even one person enjoyed our music, maybe they'd help out and that'd make a blog post totally worth it.
I appreciate your feedback, and I understand your point of view. |
