So yeah, I work at restaurant that pay's me in 100% cash. They do not report my hours and I don't have any other form of reported income. Tax season is comin up and I'm not sure wether I should actually report my hours or not. The owner of the restaurant says she'll report my hours whenever I want to have them reported but for now it's a mutually agreement that I'm not reported. So I'm not gonna have that W2 form.
I used to work at this restaurant long before, then I came back starting around a year ago as a server and I make around 900-1250 a month just working weekends. Should I be worrying about the IRS getting on my shit? How would they find out?

as long as u pay everything in cash, going unreported is fine.
but if u are making rent/car payments through the bank prob a good spot to just let it report it.
but if u are living with mom/dad or just paying everything through cash, it's fine to not report imo. u prob get all/most your tax money back anyway |

You're fine with such income. The only way the gov't finds out is if you bought a ferrari or 500k house or are making 10k+ monthly deposits to the bank, or if you are adjusting values from your W-2 when you do file, or just pure random luck of the draw. I have heard of some people being audited for no reason whatsoever. But you dont have a W-2 and arent filing because nothing is being reported. |

Don't report, i used to work under table too for a painting company they're not gonna get you for anything. Only way is if restaurant guy reports and you don't if they aren't don't bother nothing will come of it |

umm if you're job place gets audited or something like that since likely if they aren't reporting shit for their employees who knows what kinda tax shit they doing on their own.
once they get under scrutiny so will pretty much everyone involved.
if that doesn't happen then you're free tho. so basically if you think the money is worth the risk then go for it. otherwise i'd just report it. |
