is there any chance of filing for unemployment due to getting locked out of online poker? I just filed as a professional on my taxes and now my source of income is gone and im unemloyed, seems to make sense I should be able to collect umemplyment.

Im pretty sure you have to be employed by someone contributing to unemployment. The money doesnt come from the air nom sayin? |

I don't see it happening personally unless you can get a letter from Pokerstars stating that you were an employee on their behalf (paying rake etc.) rather than just a personal gambler. (Since they can go from casino to casino.)

Not 100% sure on this but, in my state, the government will contact your previous employer (for verification) and I think it's also a requirement that your previous employer have paid into the (unemployment insurance) system (as stated by YouGoTGoT). Those are the two main hurdles, I believe. |

no self employed people are generally NOT eligible for unemployment benefits. That's the risk you take when you are self employed. Might be different state to state tho so definitely don't just take my word for it and do your own due diligence. |

this and you aren't actually unemployed because you can still play live poker. |

Sup Guys!
Came back from a year long holiday abroad, get unemployment benefit after filling out a few forms which equates about half of minimum wage, got clothing allowance for a job interview I had and bought some wicked new shoes. Grindin up my roll.
Feels good.
