We haven't even packed the hospital bag cause it is our second child, so we've been taking things pretty easy,
but now she is starting to have some very minor contractions and so now we're packing the hospital bag.
We live about 40 mins outside of Seoul, but our hospital is in Seoul because I wanted my second son to be born at the same hospital cause it was very good,
but I was expecting to move in with my brother-in-laws family this week and stay there which is about 5 mins from the hospital. The actual expected due date is May 3rd, but since last week the baby is already grown enough to be born at a healthy weight. Our first child was actually 1 week late, so we both figured that the second was going to be the same...apparently not! lol.
Mmm...well its 2:23am now in Korea, I guess I'll find out if they get stronger in the next hour, but even if they are like 1 hour apart,
we're headed off to Seoul to at least stay with my brother-in-law, as the labour for the second birth is quite quick.
I'll update if we actually leave the house tonight. I'd hate to leave during rush hour traffic in Seoul, if that is the case we're like to have the baby in Ilsan where we are now (much cleaner and spacious here than Seoul).

That is pretty exciting and I bet the minutes move slowly as you wait and see. I was going to PM you some questions on merge but I will wait and see if the baby comes 1st ha. |

I find it very interesting that you are raising a family in Korea. Any particular reason why? Because personally, I'd never plan on raising a family there. Do you also plan to teach your kids English? Does your lady speak English?

Hey guys,
I just got up after staying up all night, false alarm, the contractions went away after about 10 am in the morning,
but thanks for all the comments and you can always PM.
I'm trying to influence my wife into naming our second son (I named the first son),
but she didn't like our first son's name and in Korea we have this tradition where the children all share on same syllable (3 parts to a Korean name : Last name, 1st characters, 2nd character).
So his name is: Jung Gunoo and I want to name the second son: Jung Gunhee, but I face great resistance (I spelt the English names the way I wanted to, not the gov't approved way cause I don't like how it looks, Korean gov't way would be Jeong Geon Woo and Jeong Geon Hee but I think that looks overly complicated.
In terms of raising our children in Korea, actually I'm probably going to send them to the French national school we have in Korea,
after they finish a couple of years in grade school. I think its important first for them to understand they are Korean and have Korean friends,
then to go into an international school, but I really don't mind too much about their education, I plan to send them to rugby camp in South Africa or New Zealand for the summers anyway,
and with travel, they should be well rounded individuals.
My wife is Korean, she speaks English and studied German, while I was raised in Montreal, speak Korean and while my French is nearly non-existent now, it is still something close to my heart, but when I do speak French, I don't have an accent.
