When you walk in friday night, theres 10-20 1/2 tables, a few 2/5s and a 5/10 usually

they run plo sometimes

hotels aren't too cheap, but u can drive 20-30 mins away and get good deals. gps / smartphones help w/ this

quite sure games run 24/7

i've played all nighters there before

the 1/2 is kinda sick soft, the 2/5 is usually 5 nits 2 tag/lags and a couple recreational players

the 5/10 rarely has straddles or doubles, it plays like nl10-nl50. usually 1-2 fish, rest are decent but easily exploitable.

Good Luck,
RYan

Just remember you need to be god damn sure about their tendencies. -Artanis11 http://www.pocketfives.com/profiles/neillyaa/

Here's what I got so far...

As far as I understand it, there is a Niagara casino, and Fallsview. I believe NL200 is standard at Niagara, I think the rake there is unreal. Whereas at Fallsview, you pay $6/30min, and the lowest limit there is 2/5. I remember QJ's podcast, where DN said that a competent player in NL50 can beat 2/5, I'm not sure how true this is, but I consider myself a pretty solid NL50 player, and the rake structure alone is very tempting over the NL200@Niagara (for me, anyway). I do have some experience of playing live because I've been getting invited to homegames around town for last several months, and been working on my live game.

A place to stay is definitely an issue so far. Every place seems to charge like $150 a night..-_-... I don't drive, so I'd like to stay close to the falls. Also, I'm going with gf, so maybe I'll just drop extra money... not sure just yet what will happen.

Theres a Niagara Casino thats closer to the strip where everything is and they run a 1/2 game thats near the Sheraton Hotel.

The Fallsview Casino is different and its located closer to the actual falls and it runs at a minimum of 2/5$ and Im pretty sure they take $6 every... 45minutes-1 hour, I'm pretty sure $6/30minutes is a little steep. Only played at those limits a couple of times so not sure.

The Hilton runs pretty good rooms for $100/night and there are a lot of budget hotels that run under that, and they're still close to the action like Holiday Inn, and lots of second-rate motels etc.

10-20 minutes away, there are MAD bed and breakfasts. Like hundreds of them.

i once played at fallsview for 2-3 weeks straight of live poker

its not bad, they have 1-2 through 5kNL

but ins are 100bb, but i always bought in for 150bb+ and no1 noticed, they dont count your chips no1 cares.
Rake is preety high but I think thats standard for live play? The players are horrible

For the record, I've only been to a casino once in my life. And that was Niagara Casino. I had to wait like ~3hours to get seated (it was like, during weekend night times I think), and got stacked pretty quick (hour or so), then I left. I was a huge noob at the time, and only went in with a BI trying to "test the waters" when I had next to no understanding of the game, thinking I was a hotshot.

If you guys wanna meet up and shit during my stay there, PM me

I firmly believe that 2/5 game at Fallsview is $6/30min (2.5bb/hour). And Niagara rake structure is 10% to a $5. max, $2. is taken on the flop. I don't exactly know how much bb per hour that is. I guess it also depends on how many hands you play. I may be more comfortable playing NL200 with my roll ._.

Oh, fallsview does have 1/2? Sick, I'll try Fallsview next time maybe. Niagara casino's environment was kind of depressing. That's funny that you bought in for +150bb and that no one noticed lol... wtf.. someone should notice hahahhahhhahha. What if you stack a guy who's +150bb as soon as you sit down? I'm sure that person will notice!

I'll prob buy in for like 130~150bb too since live doesn't have autoreload, and I hate playing with less than 100bb.

Naaaahhh. I live pretty far from the falls, so to casually go is difficult (coupled with the fact that I don't drive makes it even harder). But thanks for the offer. I mean to go at the end of next month; May. Good luck to you though, hope you win moneyz!

I think you can give them a call and ask them which stakes are running
friday-sunday should be a little higher then normal since everyone gets off work and wants to gamble

afaik, Fallsview doesn't offer 1/2NL but I may be wrong...

If you get the Players Advantage Club you can take the Chinatown bus to Fallsview for only $5 =)
