Is this your first camera ?
I'd recommend reading the manual (no joke), getting a spare battery, spending time learning what the D7000 is capable of. Play around with it in different settings (bright daylight, dark, indoors). Also shoot with a low iso setting and in raw format.

D7000 is very nice.
Feel free to shoot me any questions about Nikon, I have always shot with them. I currently have a D90.
You don't have to shoot raw unless you want to do major editing. Just shoot in JPG, get a feel for the camera and how it shoots. |
