So I'm going to Austria from the 12th through the 19th of June. During the week I will be staying in Poysdorf a village in Austrian wine country. On the weekend I will be in Vienna. Basically I'm going to be on my own during the week while my friend works in the Czech Republic so I need shit to do in either Austria or the Czech Republic. I was thinking about taking a day trip to either Prague or Salzburg.
I know we have a lot of euros on LP and I would like your guys recommendations.
Here's the hotel that I'm staying at during the week in wine country:
Hotel Veltlin
and the Vienna hotel I'm staying in: https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...ing-school-renaissance-vienna-hotel/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">The Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna

Prague rocks, easily beats Vienna.
Salzburg is kind of cool but nothing special IMO. Could skip that and go to some small Czech city. |

Prague is nuts.
The best European city imo, relatively safe, beautiful and here is a lot of to do.
But be aware about TAXI PRICES. It is often questionable topic - taxi drivers often make two prices - for czechs and for foreigners. I dont like this thieves.
What are go going to do in the Czech Republic? |

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. Guess I'm going to take a train to Prague and crash in a hostel for a day or two. We aren't going to Prague for the weekend because my friend has already been there and he's paying for the hotels. |

If your friend has been there etc. you can go to Munich for a weekend. There you can walk around in the city center which is nice and drink beer in awesome beer-gardens. Then u can take a tram to a random place and drink beer there. Munich is pure win.
But for sightseeing etc. Prague is better + they have beer which is as good. The beer gardens/pubs are not nearly as good as in Munich though. |

Depends what you want to see/do.
For sightseeing, Prague and Vienna are both interesting.
For partying, there is Tiesto in Brno on Friday, June 17, if you are into trance. |

there is a light at the end of the tunnel... (but sometimes the tunnel is long and deep as hell) | |

Yeah I'd like to do some sightseeing. Touristy kind of shit that I can do on my own. Man Tiesto would be nuts idk if I'd make it out alive. I'm flying out tomorrow in the morning. I'm getting really excited! I'm probably going to chat up the concierge and hit up some smaller towns in the Czech Rep. If anyone around there is free during the week, I'd like to meet up with some locals to get a better feel for the country. |
