my town is about to get annihilated =o don't remember us making national news before (only 35k people) but we're going to turn into a lake for a couple weeks (i'm just outside the city so i'm not going to be affected but i've been helping family evacuate their homes during the last couple days). my sister isn't even in one of the normal high-risk flood areas and she's supposed to get like 8 feet of water above her main floor o_O - some areas are going to be much worse

the local news guy was on the cbs early show too but i can't find video online. national guards posted everywhere, town is total chaos, feels like armageddon. mandatory evacuation for danger zones was originally supposed to be 10pm(cst) tonight, but mayor just went on TV and said there's problems with the levees and flood sirens are likely going off in less than 1 hr from now... anyway, wish us luck!

snider are you in one of the flood zones? gl dude
they're telling people not to be sightseers and gtfo of the way of people trying to do work on the dikes so i'm probably not going to go out of my way to get pictures, but i'll see what areas are open tomorrow and take a camera with me in case i see a decent shot.

they have a live video of the bridge going by the water treatment plant, it's not the greatest shot but the water is obv close to overflowing there. some parts of the city are already flooded:

yah just barely out. and both places i work (lucky strike and bootleggrz) are out too. so i'm pretty lucky
I know a ton of people that are out both job and home. hopefully this thing isn't as bad as everyone is predicitng. i kinda don't think it will be but guess we'll find out

yea i'm way up north of the airport so i'm fine. my sister is fucked tho.
i hope it's not as bad as everyone is predicting, but it seems like it's getting worse now, if i heard correctly they said it's expected to get to 1566 ft now instead of 1564? and supposed to crest saturday or friday instead of sunday. |
