Since I don't visit 2+2 at all, I'm disappointed that LP seems a lot less active. Obviously, after Black Friday most Americans have nothing to talk about. This is in stark contrast to Teamliquid - if there's a controversial topic, the thread balloons to 15 pages overnight (a little TOO active, IMO). The whole aura here has gotten a lot more gloomy.

I played pretty much exclusively on FTP, with ~90% of my net worth stuck there now. I have been silent since I didn't want to induce fear-mongering (looking at you, Whamm!), but yeah, the situation sucks right now. Since I don't have any insider information on this, there isn't much else for me to comment or speculate on.

I have been playing on Merge (level 70 Barbarian, yo!). Does that make me the most powerful Hero on Liquidpoker? It's alright but really needs an influx of new players. Above nl200, there is little traffic and it is comprised of regulars. Perhaps that just is a sign of the stagnant poker economy (at least in NL). Girlfriend has been grinding on Stars - apparently < nl100 is good, nl100+ not so much.

Tonight, I'm heading to Macau for 4 nights to renew my Taiwan visa and live poker. There isn't much to do besides gambling and saunas so this trip is going to be mostly business. Going to be playing 20/40 HKD at the Lisboa and will try out the Wynn this weekend. If this trip goes well, will strongly consider attending the Red Dragon which is in early August. Will write a trip report when I get back!

Also doesn't help this site being active when every controversial topic ends up being the exact same discussions, i.e. 9/11, gov't v anarchy, austrian economics v normal economics, pot legalization, alt medicine, fed conspiracy.

Once Black Friday happened, some LP posters got all butt hurt and decided to stop posting altogether, but some of us have continued to come to the site because we know the online poker issue is only temporary.

One possibility is that some of the people who are inactive at the moment don't have much of a life without poker, or that their hobby outside of poker isn't related to LP in any way.

I try to tell and get the few poker players I know to watch MMA because it seems like the perfect fit to poker somehow. MMA has a lot of action on the mat, action in the betting scene, and there's always 1-2 events every week, not to mention it's exciting.

If I were to give any advice to current LP members, I would say to start up a blog or thread about your hobby outside of poker to see if anyone else is interested in it too. With any luck, you'll get some replies and the thread will grow and it will give you another reason to visit this site aside from just poker.

Me = MMA is my hobby, so I make MMA threads.
DvoBoardRider = he likes/makes sports threads.
TheHuHu3 = weird as fuck so he makes random threads that get a bunch of replies somehow.
Defrag = poker news related threads aside from poker news front page stuff.
Ket = threads that encourage people to post various things, usually funny stuff, which makes people continuously go back to the thread to see the new funny posts.
etc.

LP has been less active since the floofy days, but it's still active enough that I spend like 2hrs/day browsing this site

oh and you should stream more street fighter i've been wanting to buy the game ever since I watched you play. Is it better to buy for pc or xbox? ;o

hey exalted i apologize for my posts tilting you a bit man, you have always helped me in xfers to ftp before without any question and ive always defended you here coz i felt you were a nice trustworthy guy. if you've noticed i havent been posting stuff from 2p2 or anything BF related coz i also realized it might make things worse. again, i didnt intend to make LP FTP guys feel worse abt this and im sorry.

didnt join/start playing till AFTER black friday. there are goals and there are hindrances. i bet all the us players will come back in 3 months anyway

at first thought this place was gloomy, but its not. and the discussions here are actually fun to read even if every comment doesnt actually have to do w it. TL sucks now, started there but i browse this site more. @ tl too many people who want to shout their opinion and be recognized but arent willing to recognize others cuz they dont read shit in the first place
