So President Obama is trying to honor the victims of 9/11 by reading a passage about... the destruction of Earth? Sounds more like some kind of a message of what's to come than a review of what has happened. What do you think was he trying to say through this Bible passage?

It still boggles my mind how the president of the most powerful and technologically advanced (maybe not anymore?) country in the world starts his speech with "God is our refuge (sp?) and strenght" and even cites the bible in this time and age, makes me a REAAAALLY sad panda.

One of 3 non decent human beings on a site of 5 people with between 2-3 decent human beings
I've always been under the impression that it's more of a tradition than belief in the US.
I don't know, its hard to explain. But thats the view I have of USA. They're religious but not practicing religion, or something. The average american I mean.
Anyway, I don't see a problem with him starting his speech like that. It's not like he's making decisions based on what he believes is the voice of God in his head.

You know how you find the truth? When there is a crime - follow the money. When there is something bad coming - follow the powerful. They are always warned and protected and knowledgable about the world. I'm just giving you food for thought.
NASA put this warning in June I believe on their website. ONLY on their website. They warn their employees of possible coming disasters, especially around the coasts and big rivers and tell them how family preparedness is essential for the upcoming days. Why did they not say anything to me or to you? Is there going to be a natural disaster only in NASA offices lol? Do they know something we don't? This video has been deleted from youtube dozens of time but they just gave up cause people keep on uploading it. What do you guys think, is Obama trying to tell us something subtly, something that maybe NASA knows about...?

4 in 10 Americans think the world is 6k years old and the bible is the inerrant word of god. America is also to large and diverse to say what the average one is doing w/ regards to belief. On the coasts like Oregon/Washington/California/New England/New York/Philadelphia/New Jersey and some big city areas like Chicago then I'd agree that the average person describing themselves as religious are just religious by name but don't really practice or go to church etc. However in the Bible belt (stats which are, east of Oklahoma, south of mississippi, north of florida and excluding Atlanta) along with Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah are all very religious states in which the average religious person will be attending church at least once a week, often twice.
dont tap the glass...im about ready to take a fucking hammer to the aquarium
The most advanced country is also the most backwards, the richest and the poorest, the smartest and the dumbest... America is the definition of paradox to me

Yea like I said, It's just the impression I have. Or had.
Like when someone says "God help us all" all dramatic, I've always thought it was more an expression than actually asking God to help them.
But then again, almost all my information is coming from movies and TV shows as I've never been over there myself
