You gave him every possible opportunity to improve his hand and then finally bet at the point when your hand was at it's weakest. You didn't even give him an opportunity to fold. He probably wouldn't have, but still at least give a guy a chance to lose.

You can easily raise more pre-flop if your post flop play isn't good(which it isn't). You will knock out more hands and end up having a better idea of what the opponent might hold. This makes your post flop play much simpler.

If I remember right the odds of getting three of a kind on the flop with any unpaired hand are something like 1.5%. Don't be afraid of a three of a kind on a paired flop unless/until the other player gives you a reason to think they have it. The only hands that are ahead of you are 22, AA and any ten. You should be betting those kinds of odds all damn day.
